Thank you El-K for your Star Wars geekery. I was hoping someone would know that offhand.

Okay, so Jabba is about 12 years older in ANH than he was in TPM, and then from when we see him talking to Han in ANH and when we see him revealed in Jedi (and remember when Jabba was *revealed* after we'd only *heard* about him? Isn't that kinda ruined now?) less than FOUR years take place.

So shouldn't the model for Jabba in ANH look just like the puppet in RotJ?

I mean, honestly.

New Dianoga (not sure if the body is new, or just the eye)

Only thing I don't like is how dark the background is, but that may just be the pic.

It's just the eye itself. Same body.

I think it's just the screencaps, most of them being from a compressed Xvid. I don't think the DVDs will be that darl.

I believe that the official timeline is 3 years between ANH and ESB and 6 months between ESB and RotJ.

Much to my great shame - it's probably something to do with why I havent gotten any in quite some time. Females, you know they can smell that on you.

Gotta find yourself a female that wants to smell that on you. I got my wife Robotech DVDs for Christmas, and didn't get banished to the couch. Now that's a wife.

And I think the question about the droid search, was the bit where they added a CGI dewback to the "look sir, droids!" bit. Which didn't seem that bad to me, just a little rough around the edges.

If anyone wants to watch the Hayden ghost scene:

http://aesop.thrillinghill.com/batca.../video001.mpeg

I can now officially say this scene sucks because Hayden plays it bad. His reaction and moments were akward. Did someone tell him a joke right before filming began? Also, why couldnt they digitally erase Lando dancing like an ass-clown in the background?

And why isn't Luke's reaction "Who's THAT guy?"

He just nods and laughs, like, "Yes, I recognise Anakin even though he is younger than I am there and I have no idea what he looked like at my age."

It just doesn't make any damn SENSE!

Wow, that Hayden scene was funny.

Was there a reason given for him looking so young and not aged like Obi Wan ?

Apparently, Lucas has said that the "force spirit" (or whatever the hell it is) dies when it embraces the dark side... so Anakin's ghost would look like all youthful and Hayden-y.

He also said Qui Gon's "Anakin... no!", and his failure to disappear after being Darth Mauled, would be explained in Episode 3. But somehow I doubt it.

On that Haydon scene - is it possible they just used some stock/rehersal footage of him from ep3? Not necessarily bringing him in and saying "OK now do the ending of ROTJ - look here, than look over here...smile, great."

Wow. After all the bitching, that wasn't nearly as bad as I expected (hadn't been able to get any previous formats to download). And even good Anakin had a bit of a rebellious streak to him, so a smirk isn't totally out of place.

None of the Jedi know how to disappear yet -- note the dead bodies in the Geonosis colosseum

Also note anakin's lines during his tirade after killing the sandpeople "Someday, I'll make it so people dont have to die" (or something to that effect)

I am not thoroughly convinced about the Jedi spirit remaining in some sort of limbo (purgatory?) due to crossing over the dark side. I'd rather like to think that because Anakin was "more machine than man" that there really wasn't anything organic left in his body to age since he was artificially kept alive all the time. Injuries and abuse of the Force notwithstanding, it still does not explain why he looks completely different at the unmasking than in the afterlife since it's now young Anakin's spirit at the end.

Since Sebastian Shaw's original spirit scene was shot separately from Obi-Wan and Yoda's, it probably would've made more sense to do the same thing again anew. Unless of course, Lucas filmed Hayden without telling him he was going to be used in that final shot (thus making it a surprise for everyone). Shaw's scene was done that way. In a Starlog interview way back when, Shaw thought he was filming some publicity material and was surprised, like everyone else, to see Anakin in the end. In any event, Hayden's facial expressions don't fit in.

Not sure if anybody has heard about this yet, but someone has got ahold of some of the commentary tracks from the dvds. There's 4 samples so far and the best one is Lucas talking about the placement of Hayden in ROTJ. I would post them but I haven't the slightest clue as how to post/host audio files.

You can get them here:
The poster Faid has them, a few down on that page.

Or, more likely, just an outtake from Ep. III.

You know, I've lately been getting an Ed Wood vibe off of George Lucas, where I can almost see him watching effects shots and dailies, a mumbling "eh, it's good enough. Next!"

I've heard that
Spoiler:
they both shoot at the same time in the new version. Or, more precisely, Greedo fires a frame or two before Han does, but it should appear to be almost simultaneous.

To be honest, I never saw that one coming...

With all these changes i can imagine Han and Greedo shooting both at the same time and killing each other with their heads plopping on the table.

There's one thing I hope they fixed that has bugged me for years:

During the Death Star battle, it shows 3 Y-wings in a formation from the side as they point their ships ona decline. When the lower of the three hits the bottom of the frame, it completely disappears instead of traveling off screen. It's one of those goofs that draws me out of the movie for a second as I always look for it when that scene comes up.
