Here's the Superbit line-up for October 26th:

Bad Boys II
Cliffhanger
Dr. Strangelove (40th Anniversary)
The Guns Of Navarone
The Missing
Once Upon A Time In Mexico
S.W.A.T.

Saw those coming a mile away.

Finally, we get the Guns Of Navarone and Dr. Strangelove in dts...

With Underworld, I wonder which version of the film it will be. I didn't like the film, but I'm happy that its excellent soundmix is getting dts treatment (though I wonder will there be much of a difference between the Dolby and the dts, considering recent Superbits).

Good news, mostly predictable choices, though i'll probably grab most of them. Don't remember Guns of Navarone really having alot of surround effects, though i do like older films getting restored to better versions.

Thanks for the news!

I figured Bad Boys II would get the superbit treatment. I'll just add that one to my wish list.

I am happy with the current transfers, sound, and extras for Bad Boys II, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, & Underworld so I will not be double dipping.

Underworld has a director's cut - I wonder if the Superbit will include the extra footage.

Considering the quality of the original source material, I don't see Superbit helping "Dr. Strangelove" out a lot. The current SE is outstanding and contains some very worthwhile (and substantive) extras.

ALso, no word on if "Once Upon A Time....." would be theatrical 2.35:1
or the psuedo-open matte 1.78:1 like the previous disc......

Yup, I just don't see how the superbit treatment is going to help Strangelove... At all. But, I'll wait until the reviews are in to make a final judgement.

Thankfully, I can pass on the rest. My wallet is pleased.

This will be the 3rd release for Underworld within a year, is that a record?

Isn't it within 6 months?
Glad I held off on Dr. Strangelove, though.

I was thinking the same thing, is this movie that popular that in warrents this. Aside from this board, where for some bizarre reasons it seems to be a favorite movie, I've never met anyone that liked this movie.

I hope the difference between the Superbit Guns of Navarone and the current one is as pronounced as the Lawrence of Arabia Superbit. I got rid of Guns in part because the transfer was so distracting.

Found two cool things about "Dr. Strangelove", though...it will include:

-All new documentary including interviews with Robert McNamara, Walter Kronkite, Bob Woodward, Leonard Maltin, mrs. stanley Kubrick, Spike Lee and others.

-Possible limited edition script with handwritten notes by Kubrick. (to be confirmed)

It will include 5.1 and dts mixes....
