I loved it, but I already double dipped once, so I doubt that I would buy another release.

Been tempted to get Cliffhanger again since it's so cheap, but I'll wait for the Superbit now.

Thanks for the heads up Mao.

Out of them I only own Bad Boys II and dont see the need to double dip.

I may pick up Dr Strangelove (not sure why its a superbit release though as its not exactly got state of the art visuals or sound).

Well of course. Do you have more than one mind, Sybil?

Did you mean "closed-minded" or just plain "idiotic"?

Glad I got rid of my R3 DTS of Cliffhanger! Might get it again in October.

I am still waiting for The Messenger to get the Superbit treatment that it got from Japan!

me too! is the Japanese DVD the theatrical cut or the expanded version?

and a Superbit version of 'Adventures of Baron Munchausen' the print used for the recent Japanese SB edition ain't all that pretty - the audio is great the print isn't remarkable though.

As opposed to being double minded?

I'll be curious what they do with Strangelove, but I'll wait for reviews. That's the only one on that list that interests me...

I believe it is the expanded. The print for Baron was almost as bad as the film itself.

Giles, it might have been. I am not known for crapping on things like that. However, I have to say, it was one of the most boring movies I ever watched. I had high hopes too.

wow, superbits of movies that actually merit the concept. So many superbits just make me go "HUH?" (snatch, legends of the fall, panic room.... etc) Only dr. strangelove fits the bill on that list. Great movie, but can the source material really merit enhanced video and audio?

Ive got a good system, but I just dont see much improvement from the superbits over some quality releases. I really wish they would do this series justice and start getting good movies and really making the transfers and sound shine.

Anyone know how many of these are going to show up R3 too? The pricing from koreandvds.com is so much better than USA pricing and R3 superbits are also always R1-compatible too.

Nothing too exciting. SWAT, Mexico and Bad Boys 2 all look and sound great to me as is..... now, if Underworld is the director's cut, I'll pick it up... if it's the theatrical...nah.

Wow - 8 Superbits in one month! It's about time. I wish they had releases every month.

I hope a few of those are Superbit Deluxe...

Yup, I just don't see how the superbit treatment is going to help Strangelove... At all. But, I'll wait until the reviews are in to make a final judgement.
Actually I would tend to think that older films, would stand more to gain from Superbit than today's blockbusters. The more grain a film has, the higher the needed bitrate in order to avoid digital artifacts like mosquito noise, as film grain is constantly moving.

According to the admin at DVD Times the Underworld Superbit is the original, theatrical cut. So I don't know which to get, the extended uncut version or the superbit with DTS. Any thoughts?

I've bought my share of Superbits, being the gullible comsumer that I am, but the only film I'll likely pick up with this bunch will be The Guns of Navarone.

Everything else on that list is a high candidate to be a launch title for the Blu-Ray format when it shows up late in 2005, so I'll skip them.

Hmm... precious super bits given over to Spike Lee -- not my idea of an expert on Kubrick.

I'll be very curious about the sound mix, I can't imagine how they would come up with a 5 channel mix -- sure hope the original mono is on board.

I'm glad they're doing the film though, it deserves the best effort possible.
