Fantastic!
|
Not sure if i'll upgrade. Depends on how much better the DC is.
|
Just picked up the 2-Disc and wanted to let ya'll know that the 2-Disc Theatrical has a $5 Rebate for the Directors Cut...it also does not mention that it will have the same extras has the 2-Disc...I will probably keep both...
|
Great news

|
Yeah, baby, yeah!!!!

WOW, thats sooner than I thought. Most excellent.
|
It just mentions "Discs of features" the new DC, commentary, and the figurine...which looks f**kin awesome! It'll probably be around the size of the Monster Legacy busts...
I just finished the movie...and wow! This is a Reference DVD all the way...incredibly sharp and detailed video and bombastic and subtle audio...I highly doubt even a superbit could get much better than this...and you just know theres gonna be one down the pike... after just having watched the movie for a second time...I really dont know how a DC would improve upon this...to me...this is a perfect film...perfect pace...incredible action...characters etc...its all balanced perfectly...hope the DC doesnt make it feel bloated... |
Will the DC also include the Theatrical cut of the film?

My video interview with Guillermo is now online here:
http://ugo.com/channels/filmTv/exclu...rticleID=12190 He talks about special features on the Director's Cut, including the new commentary track (as well as Hellboy 2). |
the cover art looks great.
the choices, the choices. I was thinking about picking up that directors cut, but now I'm debating whether or not to pick up that 2 disc thats out now. |
BJacks - Nice job with that! He's the coolest....
|
Thank you so much for posting the info! I'm such a sucker for this film I'll probably end up getting the gift set, even though I usually get the cheaper editions. They did such an amazing job with just the theatrical cut DVD, I can't wait to see this.

|
It's seems to be made clear here (I don't know how reliable dvddebate.com is, though):

I got my Hellboy disc Monday. I will also buy the Director's Cut in October without the action figure. I bought the gift sets of LOTR, but don't really feel like I needed to. The extras are still sitting in the boxes and I don't know what I'd ever do with them.

Looks really nice!
edit: took out link that no longer worked |

It's always good to check your links to make sure it's linkable.
The link in my post works  :D |
That gift set is the bees knees.
Edit: Woo hoo! 2000 posts finally... |
I can't wait till this comes out. I loved Hellboy, even if the final act of the film falls apart for me.
BTW- I love the new cover! |
Definitely holding off for this DVD.
|
I'll be getting this for sure, but not the giftset. I could just never justify paying 20 dollars more a figurine.
|
So, it says that it contains the same extras as the two disc. Does that mean that the commentary for the two disc will or will not be there? I haven't been able to figure that out by what I've read.
I've held out buying the two disc for the DC, and I'm just wondering if I will be missing anything buy buying the DC and not the two disc. |

Maybe you could just borrow the 2-disc set and check out the commentary and buy the DC. |
