Rodriguez needs to take a serious break from making movies and concentrate on this release as well as the rumoured SE of 'The Faculity' as well.. ho hum... (tapping fingers on table top - aimlessly looking into the sky).

I'd read on several sites very early this year that he'd planned a big SE to be released toward the end of the year. Still waiting though for the announcement though. Sure hope it comes out this year.

According to the audio commentay on Spy Kids 3, the SE is supposed to be late this year (2004).
Unless he's already finished his commentary and supplements, it may be a longer wait since he's about to start filming Sin City.

I remember reading an article with Rodriguez talking about a possible special edition set way back when part 2 was being filmed (and a part 3 was pretty much a given). We have waited ever since for an announcement.

It would be nice if Spy Kids (The Faculty and Roadracers) would finally be released. Maybe Rodriguez will embrace Blu-Ray and we'll see them there or maybe to coincide with his new family movie which comes out in 2009.....
