As I mentioned in this thread: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...readid=385601, I was expecting more but was ultimately disappointed. The effects were awesome considering the budget & the fact the Spierig (sp?) brothers did the CG work themselves. I might pick up a R1 DVD if it's cheap and has nice extras. It wasn't worth the price of an import for me.

I paid $15 (postage paid) for it on import.

I thought it was good. Not amazing, but very good. I liked the nice twist they put on zombie movies. It was original and made you think.

I was also pretty dissapointed with this. I picked up the R4 a month or so ago from cdwow along with Shaun Of The Dead and the Spaced Complete Series. Shaun was great. Spaced was even better, so I had real high hopes for Undead, but I was ultimately dissapointed. I didn't even think that Marion (hillbilly character) was that cool. The F/X were great for the limited budget, but I didn't think the movie was nearly as goofy-clever as and of the Evil Dead flicks or Dead Alive. I should have known to lower my expectations a bit with the raves on the DVD cover from Harry Knowles.

My opinion, if you buy this, pick up Shaun and Spaced to cleanse your palate afterwards

Shaun of the Dead is a much better movie than Undead. They're not even remotely in the same league as one another. If you're going to import something, import Shaun of the Dead.

Or depending on your love of the film, you may not want to: Shaun of the Dead R1 Specs

Shaun is a better movie but Undead is still a decent zombie flick compared to alot of crappy horror films that are out there on video.

Noted, but you won't be missing much getting the region 1. I have the region 2, those other two commentaries were fairly dull, imo. They basically amount to mildly interested bland British people chatting while watching a movie they've already seen amd don't find especially interesting. Just happens they appeared in the movie. I mean it's pleasant enough, but they're two of the more disposable commentaries I've ever heard(and I listened to the Resident Evil commentary with Milla Jovavich!) I expected a bit more of Bill Nighy's commentary but it's rather dull...and that zombies commentary is an interesting idea that flops.

All the other extras are the same, and it's NTSC.

I don't see that this is still available from CD-wow! Why did it drop off?

I anticipated it. I watched it. I want my 2 hours back. I did like the hillbilly's bullet time skillz, and the homages to the Evil Dead series, but ultimately the film left me unsatisfied.

What do you guys want for fifteen bucks? Sorry to bring this up after so long, but geez. You get a import delivered to your door for fifteen bucks and (for the most part) nothing buy complaints.

Timely bump, medavidson. Just today I picked up the new calendar for my local revival/arthouse cinema, the NuArt in L.A., and what do I see? They're showing UNDEAD in a few weeks!

So, I'd say a US DVD release is about 6 months away...
