UNDEAD (Australian Zombie Flick) ever going to see a US release?

I know there was talk a while ago that Lions Gate was going to go ahead and pick this up, but I haven't seen any talks of a US DVD release.

well I would assume if Lions Gate is releasing this (and they are), they are first going to concentrate on releaing this theatrically, and not worry about a DVD timetable release... yet.

I noticed that on the MPAA website, they have rated 'Undead' with a R-rating, anyword if any cuts/trims were made to the film in order to receive it's rating as such?

Now if only Lions Gate would stop being wishy-washy and just announce the US release dates for this and Haute Tension, alot of horror fans would be very happy.

I agree. I was just curious, just because I don't know if I should wait on a US release, or just try to find the Undead DVD Region 2/4. I also agree with the Haute Tension release, I just bought the French 2 disc on my trip there a couple weeks ago and its a great movie.

I hope that disc comes out. I saw the film and it was awesome. I want to support it here in the US and would get the DVD in a heartbeat.

I haven't seen Undead or Haute Tension, but really want to. If they released these straight to DVD, I'd buy them in a heartbeat w/o seeing them.

I bought Undead the other day (R4) because I don't want to wait for a US release that may not have all the special features that are on the Aussie one.

As for Haute Tension, I'd do the same if an uncut subtitled version were released. There's talk of a R2 UK release soon.

(And, yeah, I've seen both flicks and they are worth it if you're a horror fan.)

You can get it from CDwow for around $16 or less (if you use the voucher link). Once it ships, takes about a week to arrive.

Check the international forum.

Cheaper from www.cdwow.net for $16.95 shipped.

UK buyers go through www.cdwow.com for 8.99.

Look out for a coupon.

I think Lions Gate will be gearing up for the DVD release. They make much more money from a DVD that a cinema release.

I emailed Lion's gate a while back about Undead. They said "stay tuned for an announcement concerning that title, coming soon!"

That was about a month ago.

Well I know Haute Tension is coming to theaters next February, so that probably won't come out on DVD until next summer. Still waiting for my Undead DVD from Lion's Gate...

This is true. I couldn't remember if it was on Ju-On or Martin, but I remember seeing after the trailer played, saying coming to DVD in early 05. Oh well, atleast I'll get a chance to see it.

Got mine a long time ago, & am happy w/ it. I'm sure if it ever does get a US release, it will not contain the great documentary on it.

Either way, Undead is WAYYYY overrated. The hillbily guy is cool & about the first 20-25 minutes are cool, but after that the characters get really annoying as does the plot.

Yeah, I agree, I picked up the region 4 also after all the great reviews I have heard, and me being a huge Zombie fan, but thought many of the characters were in need of some major development, didn't care to see a one of them go. Some really neat ideas and effects, but a little too much CGI, I would give it a rec to any horror fans though and they can come to their own conclusion. Great energy for a low budget feature though.

June 3rd actually. Devil's Rejects is August. Don't worry though, we'll get our horror fix in January with Professor Boll's Alone in the Dark!
