Indeed  This is my all-time favorite movie so I'll definitely be double dipping here.

No TGG... when Mallrats first came out, MTV had an "MTV Movies" premiere party hosted by Chris Connoly. I remember little of it.

Cool. I was gonna pick D&C up soon but I guess I can wait a few more months.

I just graduated, working for the city. I'm thinkin' about quitting, but it's money in my pocket...

remember to eat a green thing every day.... the store guy is hilarious. coach conrad is another favorite. i have an autographed picture of him sitting in my cubicle. "rich! before next fall you're in need of serious attitude adjustment, young man! you better get your priorities straight. don't think i haven't noticed..."

I'm late to the party, but this fargin rules!

I can't see the existing transfer on Fast Times looking any better than it does for a film of its age --- I don't think Universal would go through the effort of doing a full restoration. The only thing I am thinking is possibly a little better compressioning. I'll hold on to my ucrrent copy until I read the reviews.

cactusoly 05-29-04 11:45 AM

I'm glad I waited such a long time before I picked up Dazed and Confused and Fastimes

When it says "new" audio commentary. Does that imply that there is a previous release with a different commentary?

You know about this (SACD)? http://www.cduniverse.com/productinf...01&style=music

Shockingly good sound quality; gorgeous 5.1 remix; highly recommended.

No, I believe it implies "newly created," unless there is a Criterion version of this on laserdisc that I've never heard of.

boooooo!

oh well...i have been waiting already.

etrnlevol 06-17-04 04:50 PM

Is it me or did the price go up as well? Amazon still has the old date with a $19.98 list ($13.99 sale). The dvdanswers post says $27.98 list price.

shizawn 06-17-04 05:06 PM

Bummer about the delay, but I'm totally looking forward to getting both of these. Glad I held off getting the current versions.

The $27.98 SRP is for both, a.k.a. "The Ultimate Party Collection".

That is a bummer, but those covers are sweet

Sex Fiend 06-18-04 11:47 AM

Cool ! It sounds like the deleted scenes included in the TV broadcasts of Fast Times WILL be included on the disk, after all. This is the first I have heard that the extra scenes will be included.

Although it would have been better if the extra scenes were cut back in as they improve the film (in my opinion), I've heard that Amy Heckerling is on record as saying she preferred the original release cut of the film.

But in any case, this is a definite upgrade for me, although it's a bummer to have to wait a couple of extra months.

grunter 06-18-04 02:32 PM

Somehow I knew this would be delayed. I can't quite part with my current copy of "Dazed & Confused." It's perhaps the disc I play the most often.

me too. i guess that i can suffer along for another couple of months.

"fixin' to be a lot better, man...."

scott shelton 06-18-04 04:20 PM

So that's it?

Just deleted scenes on the new FAST TIMES disc? That's the only difference?

steebo777 06-19-04 09:19 AM

Heeeyy, watch the leather man.
