I'll buy this one. Never saw it in the theater. Looking forward to it. And I guess I'm not an "average" churchgoer, as I will be purchasing widescreen.

I am going to wait for the 2disc even though I don't want to and feel that I shouldn't have to. They should do it right the first time.

edit: Why is this not listed on the "Release List" of DVDtalk?

The way I see it is that if you purchase the Full Frame...you'll have a one way ticket to Hell. Damn sinner!

I already emailed Geoff. According to him, the coming soon list is connected to the review database. He said that the Passion is not available to online presses so it is not on the review db.

So, I guess we will not see it reviewed here at least until the day of release.

There is a review of the region 2 version though, if your interested in reading it...

Don't forget the alternate endings!

Yeah, I read that one ending has Jesus in the tomb and George W, single handedly, rolls back the stone to let him out.

Dvdtalk's excuse is that they were provided with review copies, so it doesn't get listed on the release list.

Yep, it's all a big excuse to deny coverage to a movie the site ran TWO reviews of.

And Armegeddon starts! With Bush as the reincarnate version of that bald devil dude, and Jesus beats him and we all live happily ever after......with Kerry in office

I picked this up at a local video store yesterday. WS and FS are not listed on the front, it's in small print on the back in the top left corner.

When will they finally abolish Fullscreen?!?!? It really has NO purpose. It shouldn't be an option. But back on topic..this is a rental for me, didn't see it in theaters but also didn't have a big interest in it

I liked Kevin SMith's suggestion for the end of this film...

"I would have done it a LITTLE different. You know, play with the audience's expectations. So after Jesus says, "it is accomplished", and he bows his head...

... then NINJAS fly out from behind him. NINJAS start tearin' into the roman centurions. Ninjas with UZIS. Then they pry him off the cross, sling him over the shoulder and escape..."

He said this at the comics convention I went to. It's only a paraphrase; he said much more, in greater detail... I suspect he was only half-joking...

I wonder if Kevin Smith has seen the end of Life of Brian?

Why do you anti-Bush guys feel the need to interject with your political views in every DVD thread? Can't we just discuss the DVD and stay off politics? You don't see me crapping in all the Micahel Moore threads.
