Anyone pick up this new release today?

Remarkably, I've never seen this film. How bad was the original dvd release?

good grief - what to buy after work today:
Master and Commander
Step into Liquid
and now this.... I need another job.
The DVD review states that the film was given an X-rating and trimmed, this wasn't the case, the filmmakers appealed this rating and won, resulting in no footage trimmed or lost.

I just picked this up as a blind buy as part of the Circuit City $9.99 sale.
... am I the only one disappointed (and somewhat surprised) that this was re-released just 2 months ago and is NOT Anamorphic?
Many of the early DVDs were non-anamorphic, but I have seen very few releases recently that have not been anamorphic. I have replaced many of my non-anamorphic DVDs with re-releases. I am torn as to whether I should keep this one or return it.

I think dvdtalk's review of it mentioned it was anamorphic as well.

Okay, I'll take your word for it. I swear I have read every word on the cover, and I could not find anywhere where it said Anamorphic or Enhanced.

The commentary on this is great. None of that hollywood kissup stuff from Abel Ferrara. He's going off on everyone, including himself. When something is great, he says so, and when something is crap, he doesn't hesitate for a second to call it out.

Am I the only one who thought this movie was a piece of trash? I usually like gangster films but this seemed to go nowhere, misused it's cast, and had the worst cocaine scenes I've ever seen. Watch them shovel stuff into their nose and it all falls out. God.
