In America - on DVD May 11th!
from Yahoo/Reuters:
"Meanwhile, Fox also has slated a May 11 DVD street date for the drama "In America," which has received three Oscar nominations, including original screenplay for Sheridan and his daughters, Naomi and Kirsten, actress for Samantha Morton (news) and best supporting actor for Djimon Hounsou (news).
Both widescreen and full-screen versions of "In America" are on the same disc, which is expected to carry a suggested retail price of about $30. "In America" and "Master and Commander" will be priced for rental on VHS. "
no word on the extras.. but DVD Answers wrote some time ago that the R2 UK DVD would have the following extras so i wouldn't be surprised if R1 gets the same:
• Audio Commentary with Director Jim Sheridan
• A Personal Journey: The Making Of In America
• 10 Deleted Scenes

EDIT: also,DVDcompare claims that the R1 disc has 9 deleted scenes while other reviews claim that it has 10 like the other releases.what a mess.

The movie was originally R for a sexuality, drug references, brief violence and language. So, some of the language was overdubbed (I forget which scenes, but if you watch closely you'll notice it.) to squeak by as pg-13.

so the only difference is the language was overdubbed? you mean the length is the same as the R2 discs? are you sure?
