Specs for Blue Underground's November 17 releases just put up on their website:
Smithereens
The Loveless
Never heard of either film, not an uncommon thing for a Blue Underground release though... anyone familiar with them? The Loveless description sounds really intriguing, but I can't say I'm too interested in Smithereens.
...interesting that the only unscheduled discs left on BU's "Future Releases" list are Fire & Ice and One Dark Night. Here's hoping for December!

Just finished watching Mark of the Devil and Night Train Murders. M.O.T.D. is a huge improvement over the old Anchor Bay disc (there's a wealth of great extras), Night Train Murders is a must own for fans of Italian horror. I'm going to try and catch Killer Nun tomorrow evening. Can't wait for The Loveless and The Smithereens. Blue Underground will be sponsoring next week's Chiller Theatre Convention in New Jersey. Bill Lustig will be there also.

I picked up Mark of the Devil and Night Train Murders as blind buys, but I read some reviews of the films themselves and they sound to be what I like. I'm sure BU delivers A/v and extras to be top-notch. But I'm night quite sold on Killer Nun. The one with Dafoe (I can't remember if its Loveless or Smithereens) looks mildly interesting, but the other doesn't.

LOVELESS is the one with Dafoe. Directed by NEAR DARK's Katherine Bigalow, though it is supposed to be more of an "art film." Still, I've wanted to see it for years.
SMITHEREENS is actually a terrific film, though it is not at all like BU's usual fare. The film is about the going-nowhere life of Manhattan's punk scene in the early 80s, sort of a realistic version of DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN. Again, more of an "art film" but one that has great emotional impact (though it is noticeably lacking in gory beheadings
)

Just got done watching Killer NUN. Wow. Murder, blood, necrophilia, lesbianism, what more could one want in a film?
Mark of the Devil and Night Train Murders are pretty good, and Bloody Judge might be bought next week.

I just watched Killer Nun last night. Mark of the Devil is next. I can't seem to find Night Train Murders anywhere, so I'll probably pick it up from DDD sometime soon.
Does anyone know why Emanuelle In America costs so much more than the other BU releases?

anyone know any B&M stores carrying Killer Nun or Night Train Murders. I picked up Mark of the Devil recently at Best Buy, but they didn't have the others.

Well I'll buy it hoping there will be something cool about since, since it is being released by BU, but I hope they dont become like AB did, where after awhile, they started to release more commercial fare like PLENTY, TENDER MERCIES, TILL DEATH DO US APART, ACCIDENT, and I kept blindingly buying them, so hopefully there is some cult worthyness about these two releases, as I was abit disappointed by the Alan Clarke collection.

Again, I really like SMITHEREENS, but it is just your basic early '80s indie film.

Looks like BU has re-released DEAD AND BURIED and TWO EVIL EYES, albeit as 1-Disc releases without the extras that were on the bonus disc in the Limited Edition 2-DVD sets. Saw them at Best Buy for $9.99 each, so if you're only interested in the films and not the supplements, then these might be up your alley.

Believe it or not, but I'm just getting familiar with BU (had such a backlog of DVDs that I really hadn't pursued anything new for quite some time).
Anyway, I recently got:
Cannonball
Fast Company
Venom
Grand Slam
Shock Waves
Larry Cohen box set
For curiosity sake, there are several BU titles that I want to see (Fight for Your Life, Quiet Days in Clichy, Christopher Lee collection, etc...)
Here's a list of future releases from the BU web site:
FIRE AND ICE
1983
Dir: Ralph Bakshi
Prod: Frank Frazetta
ONE DARK NIGHT
1983
Dir: Tom McLoughlin
Stars: Meg Tilly, Adam West
VENUS IN FURS
1970
Dir: Jess Franco
Stars: James Darren, Klaus Kinski, Maria Rohm
99 WOMEN
1969
Dir: Jess Franco
Star: Herbet Lom, Mercedes McCambrige, Rosalba Neri, Maria Rohm
(I've been wanting to see One Dark Night for quite some time)

Smithereens looked better than I can remember it-nice transfer! The extras with Susan Berman and Richard Hell talking about the movie were great, too.
I'm pretty happy to hear that Venus In Furs is finally getting a DVD release. Thanks for the great news!

Any idea why Netflix still won't carry Fight for your life?

Everyone do a search for 99 Women on DDD. The normal BU disc is there, but there is also a listing for an "X-Rated French Version" scheduled for the same day. Is this also from BU?
