I don't think Elektra will do all that well so wonder if there's much hope for DD2. (Yes, I did like the first)

[dodging flames] Apparently, Affleck has sworn off action movies... which is a shame. I liked Daredevil. [/dodging flames]
Didn't he say that he'd be more likely to do it if Kevin Smith was involved? Given that one of the story arcs talked about for possible movie adaptation is Kevin Smith's "Guardian Devil" arc, it's quite likely that he could be involved in the film, which would most likely increase Ben Affleck's willingness to participate?

I think Ben's just looking for a bigger paycheck. Im sure he will do any role given enough cash.

Can't they simply name it something like Daredevil - Director's Cut or Extended Edition?? Daredevil 1.5 just doesn't sound right.

I guess I was the only one who was disappointed with the original. Watched it last night, and it was a snore-fest. No plot, no real character development. Maybe the added footage will salvage it, but I doubt it. Also Elektra was SUCH a weak character. She's like geared up to go out and kick ass as a super hero and on her 1st outing she stabs her boyfriend then gets herself killed. Lame.

Well, she obviously didn't get herself killed. Remember that "glimmer of hope" ending where she left the necklace for Murdock to find?

Of course, the necklace only has emotional impact (as I recall, I haven't seen it since the theater) if she left it before she went out and died . . .

actually, most people on this forum hate it. actually,
Spoiler:
she was the villian at the end of the movie because she thought daredevil killed her father.

And why exactly would she do that? It was pretty obvious that she went there after she got hurt, to show him that she was infact, still alive.

This fall is becoming worse then last year. My November isn't as bad as October...yet. I will have to get this though.

I thought the general dark tone of DD was good, but the editing sucked. I couldn't figure out what was going on in that fight scene in the bar.

I'm looking forward to the director's cut to see what changes have been made.

Yeah, tell me about it. Just about every month for the rest of the year is packed. I've got four titles coming out on Sept. 7th alone that I want. Unfortunately, the next releases aren't until the 21st. (THX 1138 (released on the 14th) I got coming with my Star Wars set a week later due to STL.)

Didn't she hang it there for Matt Murdock, before she knew his identity? Saying goodbye to the life they could have had and whatnot.

Wow! 3 comics based DVDs (Spidey 2, Hellboy DC and now DD DC) coming out in Oct/Nov. That's gonna be expensive!

From DVDAnswers:

Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced the director's cut of Daredevil which stars Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and Colin Farrell. This brand new single-disc release will be available to own from the 30th November this year, and should set you back around $19.98 in total. The film will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen along with English DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Surround and French Dolby Surround tracks. The only extra material will be a new audio commentary by director Mark Steven Johnson and Ari Arad and a Making of the Director's Cut featurette. As for the director's cut itself, around twenty-minutes of additional footage has been added, bringing the total runtime to 124 minutes. I'm afraid the artwork has yet to be released, but we'll bring you that shortly. Stay tuned.

I'm still on the fence about this release. I actually like the first cut of the film. I'll wait for a review on the DC first.
