Enter The Dragon 30th Anniversary DVD

Was this suppose to come out this year? I've heard about it sometime back but I can't find any more info. regarding a release and the year is almost over. I did find the following but it doesn't seem too legit.

- 'Enter the Dragon' producer Paul Heller along with Bruce Lee writer David Tadman release their much expected 'Making of Enter the Dragon' documentary entitled 'Blood & Steel' later this year in a 2 Dvd set for the 30th anniversary of 'Enter the Dragon'. This will run for 30 mins and contain unseen footage of Bruce on the set. Some will feature the footage of Bruce filmed by co-star Ahna Capri which is described at the bottom of this page. More information as it arrives so stay tuned!!

THE AHNA CAPRI SUPER-8 CAMERA FOOTAGE ON THE SET OF 'ENTER THE DRAGON'

- Alternative angle of the fighters climbing the stone stairs as they arrive at Han's island.
- Jim Kelly engaging in light sparring with Parsons (Peter Archer).
- Bob Wall and Jim Kelly practicing kicking techniques.
- Bruce Lee stretching while talking to Ahna Capri.
- Bruce sitting on Han's throne and talking to Shik Kien and other Chinese performers.
- Bruce doing some dance movements.
- Bruce demonstrating his awesome kicking speed on Bob Wall.
- Another angle of Bolo taking out the guards.
- Multiple takes of Bruce Lee 'trapping hands' with Bob Wall.
- Multiple takes of Bruce's groin kick to Bob Wall.
- Alternative angle and regular speed of Bruce's final side kick to Bob Wall.
- Bruce choreographing the fight between John Saxon and Bolo.
- Multiple takes of Bruce Lee rehearsing for the final showdown, in which he executes rapid fire multiple kicks to take down incoming opponents.

If it is released I hope they put a new commentary track on it. The last one blew chunks. I say put Bey Logan on it. His commentaries on the other Bruce Lee flicks were excellent.

I'm glad I never bought the previous release (if this comes to fruition).

Too bad they're not re-releasing the other movies in R1. Yep this is going to be a rebuy for me as well.

If it's only 30 minutes, why is it on 2 discs? One for the movie?

I would love to see that footage. I would double dip for this one.

That pretty cool if it's true, but it would take more than 30 minutes of documentaries to get me to rebuy. The 25th Anniversary Edition is pretty good already.

If the transfer and sound are any better than the 25th Anniversary disc, then I'll double dip. Otherwise, I'm quite satisfied. The Dolby Digital 5.1 and anamorphic transfer look and sound great as is. The extra footage is a little tempting, though.

I guess R2 is getting it first. I'm sure it will be released here in R1 eventually. I'm glad I'm region free. This is mine in August. Hopefully, it will have the specs listed above.

With Tarantino's Bruce Lee influenced Kill Bill wowing audiences Kung Fu gets even more lethal with a two-disc special edition of Lee's Enter the Dragon plus a debut for Cleopatra Jones DVD Double and Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires completing a bumper summer in August.

The 25th ann is like 6.99 at Tower Records (or at least it was a month or two ago). It was pretty fully loaded too.

I see no reason to pick this up.

Still $6.99 as of yesterday, and a great bargain.

I'll have to wait for reviews before deciding to do any upgrade - I have some of the HKL R2 Bruce Lee releases that include behind-the-scenes footage, and once was enough for most of that. The best was some of his audition material.

More than likely, it will be part of the 2-Disc SE WB series they have been releasing lately (the one with Cuckoo's Nest, Casablanca, yada). It is a very impressive series so far and looks to get even better (Heat, Goodfellas, Goodburger!)

I guess we are getting this first. I got an email with this info:

Title: Enter the Dragon
Starring: Bruce Lee
Released: 18th May 2004
SRP: $26.99

Further Details:

Warner have sent over details on a newly remastered two disc edition of Enter the Dragon which stars Bruce Lee. The disc will feature more than five hours of bonus material, including a brand new making-of documentary that explores Lee?s motivation for making the film, the difficulties of filming on location in Hong Kong and other behind-the-scenes insights. It will be available to own from the 18th May this year, and should set you back around $26.99. The full disc specs for this one are attached below:

2.40:1 Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer

English Dolby Digital 5.1 Track

Audio Commentary by Producer Paul Heller

Blood and Steel: The Making of Enter the Dragon (w/ Anha Capri footage)

Bruce Lee: In His Own Words (Vintage) Interview

Linda Lee Cadwell Interview Gallery

Lair of the Dragon Includes:
- Backyard Workout with Bruce Lee Feature
- Featurette made back in 1973

Bruce Lee: A Warrior?s Journey (Vintage) Feature

Curse of the Dragon (Vintage) Feature

Theatrical Trailers & TV Spots

English, French, Spanish Subtitles

It seems that it does get rereleased every five years so far. I've got the 20th ann. LD, the 25th ann. DVD and now this.

This title has been on my wishlist for awhile. I'm glad I held out long enough until the 30th anniversary version showed up.

As a previous poster said, I'll wait for a review to see if the audio/video is any better. Otherwise, I'll keep my 25th Anniversary.
