Is there a Delicatessen dvd available?

hmm, I don't see it available on cd-wow any more Pal is no big problem, I just have to watch it on another tv...
If anyone knows where I can buy it besides ebay, I'd appreciate it as I don't know of any good places to get non region 1 stuff.

I got mine from CD Wow for a great price too. You can get if from Benson's World for 9.99 pounds which seems to be a good price now. It seems to be 19.99 everwhere else.

Wasn't Jean-Pierre Jeunet upset with how the film looks on the R2 DVD? I thought I recalled reading some where that he thought the film looked too dark.

There's always the obvious, www.amazon.co.uk and amazon.fr. Use amazon.co.uk if you can only read English, the entire amazon.fr site is in Freedom.

from Twitchfilm.net .. with all confirming aside .. "The first questioner started by thanking the director for focusing on hope, a sentiment that was echoed by many in the audience still stinging from our Hawkish election results here stateside. He then asked if there were any plans to release Delicatessen(1991) on DVD.

Jeunet's answer was.... YES!! A new print has been struck and he is in the process of helping Miramax get it ready. No word on Special Features."

Miramax .. great !!!! . Can only imagine how that will turn out.

Sounds good, if Jeunet's behind the new print and the DVD.

Very good news!! Thanks for pointing it out.

Missed it in my search . . . I had only looked in DVD Talk and didn't see anything in any of the threads that came up.

I wonder how that version picture above will differ from the US release from May 2, 2006. Nice cover art though, the 2006 US release had a bunch of stars across the top and a critic quote I think.

I would double dip on this, especially if it gets a Blu release as well.

With so many titles left abandoned by these studios it almost boggles the mind why a rerelease of this obscure French gem is necessary. Not that I'm complaining, just never saw it coming.

Might finally be time to dump off my old PAL release ...

The current release is still available, features will probably be the same on the new version for a single disc sub $20 msrp, but the cover art is much nicer

Jeunet is the one director I'm most excited about for blu-ray. Cannot wait for his films to be released.

Awesome news!! I have the R2 release and never found a really good price on the R1. I'd love to get it on Blu-ray, but would settle for a decent SE. Hopefully, none of the features from the previous R1 release will drop off.

All of his films look incredible. But can you imagine how much Amelie would just pop off the screen? Now you have me even more on the Jeunet bandwagon!
