Are you sure? I haven't seen that or Dinosaur or Tarzan in years unless it's been used at a used store.

Maybe these will all be out before the last of my children reach adulthood waiting for them.

Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis, and Dinosaur 2-disc are still in print, but many retailers do not carry them at B&M because of the higher price tag. check suncoast or borders.

Yeah, like Cameron said, most stores don't carry them in stock, but most can order them. A few months ago Best Buy had Emperor's New Groove for 16.99, but usually they are pretty expensive.
Tarzan is OOP, but it is rumored to be coming out again this fall.

That is strange about the Lilo and Stitch 2-disc edition. I wonder what, if anything, is holding it up.

Might want to check those eyes there. Or do naked women always look like penises to you?

My just said the same thing as I was reading this thread to her. I want a Platinum or SE of The Aristocats.

I figured out exactly what they need to do for TBC.

They should do a 20th Anniversary set with:

- remastered anamorphic picture
- Dolby Digital/DTS/original 70-mm 6 track
- commentary by whomever
- documentaries on the making of the film, the controversy, and the vaulting
- deleted scenes
- character designs
- behind the scenes
- trailers

Isn't that the standard for pretty much any dvd released?

Was The Black Cauldron actually "banned"? Didn't Disney just quietly put it in the vaults for about fifteen years or so?

And it's been a while since I've seen the movie, but what was so bad about it? Wasn't it a skeleton army and some dark, swirling clouds?

I don't know. Maybe the witchcraft didn't sit well with those that practice bitchcraft.

it was never banned. Same as song of the south has never been banned. Just vaulted, and won't see the light of day until disney execs want to make it happen.

It wasn't, per say, "banned", but the execs did try to keep it vaulted for nearly 15 years because:

A) It was a bomb.
B) The dark content.

It's being slated to release with the DTV sequel later this year. Supposedly all the international features and maybe more.

But Lilo and Stitch 2 has been announced for an August 30th release, with no indication of the SE.

It was released on video in 1998 though wasn't it. I'm guessing it was since i'm looking at it right now on my kid's shelf.

You're right - thanks. Typo on my part - I should have caught it. However, the posts stating that copies are difficult title to find in B&M stores (at least the 2-disc one) are correct.

I'm not sure on the details, but there are some rumors that it might go OOP or be re-released (exact same content but slimmer case with a slipcover to mirror current 2-disc releases) to generate additional buzz over Kronk's New Groove (direct-to-video sequel) and a new series based on the film that will soon air on the Disney Channel (Kronk's Schoolhouse or something like that?! I don't know - I remember reading something about it a little while ago). As I was typing, that must be why my brain and hands were not on the same page!

Edited my original post accordingly.

Don't worry! Some people are "reserving" a few extra copies of OOP dvd for everyone on ebay:

I bet that guy also bought every copy of Aladdin, Lion King and Bambi when they came out, thinking he'd make some nice money. If so, he probably didn't realize everyone and his brother had the exact same idea.

What a moron! When will people learn that dvds just don't make for a good investment?
