Shot of the discs. They do have V2 on the fine print on the bottome of the discs.

If this is one too many BTTF threads then please lock.

Geofferson 04-07-03 12:15 PM

Good to hear -

cupcake jesus 04-07-03 12:22 PM

Nice--I might think about sending mine in now...

TonyDVD 04-07-03 01:06 PM

Thanks for the great pictures! It looks like the packaging is much better than many of us feared it would be(thank you, Universal). Hopefully, we will all be getting our replacements soon.

exparr0t 04-07-03 01:23 PM

Thank you very much.

As far as locking this thread, I think of the many BTTF threads, this is the only one that should remain. It gives definitive word that puts to rest the INSANE amounts of speculation in the other threads. Thanks for the fantastic pics - now all I have to do is wait.

bis22 04-07-03 03:32 PM

Got mine on Friday. :)

Lastblade 04-07-03 04:08 PM

I am being a n00b here, but what's wrong with the original dvds, and are the current prints okay?

Seeker 04-07-03 04:11 PM

Guess I'll send mine in and ask for the replacements now.

Anyone repost the phone number here?

Falcon 04-07-03 04:13 PM

Does anybody know if the V2 disc of BTTF get in stores yet?

Erik68 04-07-03 04:15 PM

You can call Universal at 888-703-0010 for information on thereplacement process.

SCHMEGGA 04-07-03 04:55 PM

Got mine today as well. Same packaging. My postmark was on April 1st and I got it today which seems kinda long for a 45 minute drive from where it was mailed. :)

Muzzler 04-07-03 06:34 PM

dtsmovieguy 04-07-03 06:44 PM

I just called the number above and they are sending me a pre-paid enevelope to mail my discs back. They said the product is Now Available and shipping! Woo hoo...!

Laser Movies 04-07-03 06:53 PM

Received my discs today.

Kal-El 04-07-03 06:56 PM

I haven't been really following the whole issue. How long is the time between the fone call and the mailing of the pack for the discs? I'm in California. And also, I have a lot of bubble wrap back home and some extra jewel cases to spare. Can I just skip the fone call and mail them to the address above or is it really part of the process? Thanks.

Erik68 04-07-03 07:56 PM

Don't package the discs in anything, pop them in an envelope, include a letter with your name, mailing address, phone number and the reason you're sending them back.

Snowmaker 04-07-03 09:06 PM

And we get a couple nice clear jewel cases too. Those clear ones are hard to come by. :D

eau 04-07-03 09:23 PM

I noticed there is a phone number in the packing list in the picture.

792-293-5903
M-F: 9-5pm CST

Anyone knows what it is for? I want to check the status of my exchange and 888-703-0010 seems to be the number for requesting a return mailer only.

It is to contact them for additional questions. They also provided an email address. I noticed the phone number you wrote was wrong. It should be the following.

Just threw 'em in an envelope and sent them. Didn't worry about packing them well at all. They will just destroy the discs when they get them anyways so it doesn't matter if they get all scratched up in sending them to Universal.

Tyler_Durden 04-08-03 03:20 AM

When are we going to be able to order these online?

Iron_Giant 04-08-03 04:28 AM

I guess I will have to pull my Pre-paid mailing bag out from under the DVD player so I can mail out the two "Bad" DVDs.

Not a real big deal to me, but I will do it because I can.

rb3983 04-08-03 10:49 AM

WHY??

What is the problem with the original discs? Is there something I should know about here?

The widescreen was incorrectly framed, cutting off some of the picture

rb3983 04-08-03 10:56 AM

OK

I guess I will have to take a look at this and see. Is this common and is it easy to see if your disc is one of the ones needing replacement?

Great!

You have been very helpful. I will take a look tonight. I guess I was just so happy to finally get the movie on DVD I didn't pay any attention.

Falcon 04-08-03 11:42 AM

I guess I was misunderstood. What I was asking is that I have not bought BTTF yet. I am waiting for the new release to hit stores. I wanted to know if they have shopped the new retail package with V2 in it yet. Thanks

It's really easy to tell... if you own the widescreen set, it needs replacement. ;)

All of the widescreen sets are incorrectly framed. They have *just* now fixed it and I don't think any of the corrected sets have even hit stores yet.

spankyj 04-08-03 01:20 PM

Well - I'll be enjoying my corrected V2 in a few days.

Good luck getting them at a retail store soon. I imagine it'll be a few months before they start hitting shelves.

RoboDad 04-08-03 01:51 PM

Just called to get my mailer, and they are still reading the "disclaimer" before they take your address.

One new thing they have added, though, is this statement:

"Please be advised that replacement discs have started shipping."

I don't know why they think this is so important, but the guy repeated it twice, so there must be some significance.

Got my replacement discs in the mail last night.

DarthMarino 04-08-03 03:12 PM

I live in Central Jersey and I got my discs today. I shipped them out at the end of January.

Rypro 525 04-08-03 03:20 PM

Sorry but can you still send discs in? And are those the only two major misframed shots?

Yes, you can still send discs in.

And, there are a few other shots that are misframed. (One that leaps to mind is a shot that is supposed to focus on the hoverboard, yet the hoverboard is completely cut off the bottom of the frame.)

Even if they were the only two, and they didn't bother you, I'd send in for the replacements just to teach Universal a lesson. They knew about the problem before they shipped, but didn't want to miss the big holiday rush.

I'm waiting till the V2's hit the stores, and even then I'm going to shop around.

jsz1002 04-08-03 05:44 PM

I got my replacements today!
