Silver Streak on DVD?

Anyone know if this Wilder/Pryor classic is out on DVD? I seem to recall some time ago that either it was out or just about to come out - but searching through the usual sources did not yeild results. Am I mad, or did I just miss something?

I'm pretty sure it's not out. I definitely would pick this up if available.

I also would like to see this on DVD. I emailed [email protected] today to find out the status of this, and I'll post when I hear back from them.

What a great film! This was actually one of my dad's first purchases when we got a VCR in the late 70's. If memory serves, it cost about 85 bucks then.

The Silver Streak - why no DVD??

First Richard Pryor-Gene Wilder team up and probably the best one as well. Why has this never been released on DVD?

I have been wondering this myself, for quite some time now. I would really like this on DVD. Really.

This is the one VHS tape I still own. I remember someone asking about it during the last WB HTF chat and them saying they hadn't thought about it. Cross your fingers.

Because it was a hit film in it's day and it would only make sense to issue it out on dvd.

In other words, they stupid!

When asked about the film during the January 2004 HTF talk with Fox, Peter Staddon was initially non-commital... along the lines of "Silver Streak would be a great title to put out..." Later on, he said "Jumpin Jack (Flash) would be a good title to put out with the Silver Streak in a budget line comedy promotion."

Jumpin' Jack Flash was released by Fox earlier this month as a $14.98 title; hopefully, Silver Streak won't be too far behind.

Sounds like Fox has no interest for any release anytime soon. We'll probably have to wait years, if ever!

Pryor was amazing in it.

Too bad the studios didnt let him play Black Bart in 'Blazing Saddles'.

One of the greater mysteries of life is Whoopi Goldberg's career.

She did a one woman show that was just ok and then the floodgates opened.

There should be a poll to avoid dreck like 'Flash' so that good stuff like 'Silver Streak' gets on dvd.

A poll would be great. TCM and Warner lets fans vote for which classics they want Warner to release, why can't other studios do what they do best and copy a good idea? "Which 70s comedy would you like to see on DVD?"

Another vote here for SILVER STREAK. Widescreen is essential for the final train crash!

Finally We Get this Classic on DVD!!!

Silver Streak is scheduled to be released on dvd on 12/14/04. Finally will have this classic on dvd. Hopefully it will be a widescreen version. It certainly won't be a SE because it has a list price of $9.99.

It is already up for pre-order on Best Buy, Video Universe, and Amazon.
