Man, this title is up in the top 5 of my want-list.

Since it's over four months before its scheduled release, I'm wondering if a few emails to Fox might inspire them to do this one right (i.e. anamorphic widescreen).

If so, do any of you have a contact address? I can't find anything at their website.

I happen to be very excited about the release of this dvd, I hope that it is released widescreen like Foul Play. Both Colin Higgins and both classic.

Bestprices.com has it listed for $6.70. I imagine DDD will have it similarly priced once it's in their database.

Around Two weeks away from release day and it is still not in a lot of retailers (internet and Physical stores) databases. What is the deal? I hope that we can confirm soon that it will be in anamorphic widescreen. All of the retailers that do have it listed seem to have it listed as fullscreen. I know in another Silver Streak thread someone said that they got a letter from the studio saying that it will be available in widescreen but did not specify if that was anamorphic widescreen.

Is it weird that there is very little confirmed information on the Silver Streak DVD when its only three days away?

Fox did not send out copies of Silver Streak for review. I received one only after specifically requesting it.

The DVD is anamorphic widescreen (1.85:1). The only extra for the movie is a trailer, along with trailers for other Fox catalog titles. There is an insert card.

Thanks for the news. The lack of extras is fine with me, since the transfer will indeed be Anamorphic Widescreen.

I bought it today at Wal-Mart. Ironically it was in the $5.50 bin and that's what it rang up as.
I didn't realize it wasn't out yet officially.

Is the dvd a flipper with both fullscreen and anamorphic widescreen or is a single sided disc?

It's just one sided. On the back in big letters, it clearly says "Widescreen Edition."

I am a very happy camper. Silver Streak was hardly listed in any retail websites databases. And where it was listed it was listed as full frame. There was definitely a lack of communication between the distributors, studios, and retail stores. But in the end I got exactly what I was hoping for. An Anamorphic Widescreen version.

What is with all of these retailers not having Silver Streak in their databases? I went to five stores today and all of them did not have the dvd. Best Buy was the only one with it in their databases. Borders, FYE, Coconuts, Tower Records all did not have it in their databases and didn't know what I was talking about. A lot of online retailers do not list the movie either. I think I will just bite the bullet and order it online at DDD and pay for second day airmail. Since there is no tax, that pays for a portion of the shipping charge.

Target or Fred Meyer didn't have them up here in the Seattle area. Guess I'll have to go through amazon.

Just saw this at BJ's today. It was widescreen, but I don't recall any other specs. I think it was like 8.99 or so, it was in one of those big display stands with the sub-10$ disks.

Same thing in Eugene (OR)... like others, I got lucky and found a single copy atop the bargain bin at WalMart.
