Ive seen a few sequels and TS2 is the only one I could come to enjoy. The rest were just okay to horrible.

Thankyou for speaking the truth, Disney have always done a backdoor claim on the movies.

I consider the TS movies Pixar, no matter who "owns" them.

THE HUNCHBACK OF NORTRE DAME 2 was very good, better than the original.
Except the animation is low budget.

I think the best Disney sequel is The Rescuers Down Under, the first Disney sequel.

Other Good Ones Are:

Aladdin & the King of Thieves
Toy Story 2

And Bambi 2 which comes out next year, doesn't look that bad. It actually looks entertaining.

It seems to me that Disney is just making sequel after sequel because they know they don't haev any good ideas anymore.

I thought Lion King 1.5 was entertaining, although my girlfirend wasn't crazy about it. I bought LK 2 but have yet to watch it.

I remember enjoying both Aladdin sequels when they came out years ago. My sister is younger than me & she asked for them as presents. I don't know if they would entertain me now though.

I saw Toy Story 2 in the theaters & I couldn't stand that cowgirl character. She ruined the movie for me. I can't remember why, but I just found her so annoying. I never watched that movie again.

I was curious about Santa Clause 2, so I ordered it on pay-per-view when it was on there & I thought it was pretty enjoyable.

I second Lion King 1.5. I found it entertaining and my wife even liked it.

Was anybody born before 1990??

I like Herbie 3 and 4. But not 2. Haven't bothered with the remake.
The Kurt Russell teen series was entertaining. Not exactly sequels, but sorta. They were all about the same, so not horrible as sequels. No real interest in them now, though.
Shaggy DA was decent too.

Most of the disney films released to theaters were excellent, and some were ok. Toy Story 2, Fantasia 2000 and The Rescuers Down Under were all fantastic and stood on their own, as if they weren't sequels at all.

Return to Neverland and The Jungle Book 2 were ok, but formulaic and paled in comparison to the originals.

The direct to video sequels are mostly horrid, with a select few rising to acceptable status. First the decent: Lion King 1.5, Lion King 2, Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Christmas, Pocahontas 2 (which actually made the story more historically accurate), Aladdin 2, and Aladdin 3 (better than Aladdin 2 because Robin Williams came back as the Genie). The rest, from Little Mermaid 2, Hunchback of Notre Dame 2, Cinderella 2, Lady and the Tramp 2, and the others I can't even think of, are all horrible mockeries of the originals, and should be avoided at all costs imo.

The animation in most of these sequels is something you find on cheap saturday morning cartoons, but should never be part of a disney film. In addition, the stories are often just the original story told in its opposite form with all of the whimsy and life sucked out of it. The songs are lackluster, the stories are shamefully bad, and the magic is gone.

That being said, the excellent sequels are exactly that, excellent - Toy Story 2 is arguably better than the original, and Fantasia 2000 brings forth Walt's vision of an ever-evolving Fantasia for new generations to perfection. The Rescuers Down Under was the first sequel, and it was treated with the same respect as any new disney film, and so is filled with the same Disney magic. Like The Great Mouse Detective (based on Sherlock Holmes stories), The Rescuers are characters that actually lend themselves to sequels - they are adventurers who go where they are needed to save people, and the serial nature of the story is like the Holmes stories - sequels become something new and fresh, not a rehash. Most of the other sequels are all tacked on stories at best, and insulting mangling of the original at worst. They tell you what happens after "and they lived happily ever after" - WHY?!?!? Fairy tales should end with happily ever after.

The only direct DVD I bought was 101 Dalmations II:Patch's Adventure. It is was entertaining. No where near the original, but they did a good job in matching the animation style of the original. My problem with most of their direct to DVD movies is that they are barely 70 minutes long, mainly because most of them seem like 3 tv shows stung together. The other complaint I have of them is that they basically take the same story of the original and place it in the next generation. Its worse than baby looney tunes.

The Rescuers Down Under was the first theatrical-release animated Disney film sequel and I liked it quite a bit. I've heard Mulan II is pretty good, but I haven't rented it yet. I've done some babysitting for my boss's four-year old and let me tell you, that Little Mermaid sequel blows hard.

Alladin had good sequels. And obviously Toy Story 2, but we gotta remember that TS2 was in theatres.

We should be talking about direct to video sequels.

I did inadvertently leave off the descriptive "disney" but since I had gone on for several paragraphs speaking of strictly disney films it really should be self-explanatory. Honestly it's like people try to find the one typo or small omission in a person's post instead of focusing on the clear meaning conveyed. Sheesh.
