Moving Violations DVD?
Every once in a while i'll like to bring up a forgotten gem. Make sure those studios even remember they made them in the first place.
In this case is Moving Violations(1985) starring John Murray(Bill Murray's brother). This movie literally had me rolling in stitches back in the 80's when i used to catch it on cable. Hilarious! Love to see it on dvd.
Remember the infamous Blood on the Highway film scene.
Man, I miss the 80's
While your at it, release The Malibu Bikini Shop!!(Miss that two-way dressing room mirror)

The John Murray/Jennifer Tilly anti-gravity love scene - classic!...and those two-way mirrors - legendary.

Sadly, no DVD release info for either.

Wow! I thought I was the only one who ever saw this movie.
I thought it was pretty funny - reminds me of the earlier Police Academy movies or Meatballs. Nothing overly deep or intelligent but a goofball comedy good for a few laughs on a Friday night.
Now I'll have to dig out my old VHS copy (VHS - ugh!) to watch it again.
Wasn't the name of that driver training video "Blood Flows Red on the Highway"???

Nah, it's a foursome. Maybe we're all on the same wireless LAN or something.
I haven't seen this flick since the 80s, but damn did I love watching it. I even had it on tape.
I'd love to see it on DVD. For that matter, I really like to see John Murray work again. The guy had a very deadpan delivery, very similar to his brother.
"Just fill 'er up with oil, at least two quarts."
or how about that line after commenting that she probably wasn't that smart (she ain't no rocket scientist):
"Where do you work?"
"NASA. I'm a rocket scientist."
How about the dorky guy that hooked up with the wild "wig girl" and later learned she was underage.
"I'm gonna kill you, you son of a bitch!"
Or how about....
"..."Will there be any of those handy cooking tips. Like what to do with those darn holiday left overs".
This film needs to be preserved.

Yeah, this is an unsung classic. My ultimate MIA 80's comedy is Get Crazy!

OMG! Summer School! Mark Harmon and Kristie Alley. I wore out the VHS I taped off of HBO.
The part where they turn the classroom into a bad slasher flick, that part still cracks me up.

In addition to Moving Violations and Summer School, I'd like to add License To Drive to the list. I could've swore I read in the rumor mill at the Digital Bits that it was supposed to be released by Warner Bros earlier this year, but I remembered FOX released it theatrically. When the release date had come and gone, this movie was nowhere to be found. Has anyone heard anything?

I saw this in the theater when it first came out.
I always crack a smile when he shows his "Indiana Jones" drivers license (along with the music cue). I wanted one of those!

Damn, I'll probably buy the VHS if I see it anywhere......wow, I can't believe I just said that. Actually, I think I have a recording from HBO in my parent's house.

Oh man, that's my wife's favorite 80s movies. She catches it on cable whenever it's on.....which is often.
Come to think of it, I haven't seen it on TV much lately.

Tuff Turf came out a few months ago from Anchor Bay. Mono sound, but nice anamorphic video. It hasn't held up very well though. Mostly just because what was cool & tough back then seems pretty tame nowadays. It's still funny as a campy 80s flashback though & it's funny seeing James Spader playing the James Dean new kid/loner role. I'd also love to see Moving Violations come out. Plus DC Cab & Doctor Detroit (Dan Aykroyd as a professor who gets talked into pretending to be a pimp after getting high with some hookers- "I can feel my hair growing!")

Anchor Bay will finally be releasing it in Spring 2005:
MOVING VIOLATIONS (1985) NEW
One of the pinnacles of 1980s cop comedies, this comedy from yukmeisters Neal Israel and Pat Proft comes to DVD with a new 16x9 Transfer and special features to be announced. Featuring early roles for such name actors as Jennifer Tilly and Don Cheadle, this is the ultimate experience...in traffic school. Look for it in Spring 2005.
