If you would browse around the early pages of this thread, there are some discussions about the PQ and AQ of the releases.

So is that Legacy Series just a previous release with a slipcover or something?

I haven't opened yet.. but most likely its a previous release ( I base it on the Anchorbay Brand) since the said brand is now under Starz

Thanks dude!

In other note.. for those who are interested to get one, it is offered FREE when one buys a horror DVD.

The setback (in my own experience, living here in the Los Angeles area).. there was only 1 out of 8 TWEC store that carries it (My best advice, try calling your nearby TWEC store first).

Evil Dead 3-disc Ultimate Edition announced.

So this is what, the 10th version of this movie on DVD? And still no appearance of Within The Woods.

Wow, ball dropped there on that one. I'll only buy this if the review says the picture quality is truly head and shoulders over the prior release(s).

It's because,

it was matted in widescreen for DVD and quite a few people agree it's a full screen film, as some of the matting covers important info.

Yeah but the same movie on two different discs is just ridiculous! I thought it was so cool that it was a 3 disc set but now it's barely a 2 disc set. Why couldn't they just included both widescreen ad fullscreen version on the same disc, or i hate to say this but a flipper? Now they sell it higher since it's a THREE disc set!

I would understand if it was a different edition with less or more minutes from the movie or a different ending. Like what they did with the Boomstick edition from Army of Darkness.

It will be $16.99 at Best Buy, plus you can get another $5 off if you purchase Halloween (remake) or Hatchet with it. I can spring for that.

Yeah I'll be getting Evil Dead (YET AGAIN!) on Tuesday w/ Halloween. I haven't seen Hatchet yet (even though it looks cool), but I will rent it from Netflix.
