That's a good start - BTW, UK & Germany are releasing them along with Death Rides a Horse this month, individually. But I don't know whether Adios Sabata (Yul Brynner) will also be released in UK & Germany together.

Just finished watching the new R2 DVD of Death Rides A Horse. Well worth a tenner (of Her Majesty's pounds that is). The picture quality is immeasurably better than those cheapo jobs on sale at Amazon. No extra's though, not even a trailer. Even so, well worth the dosh.
Was also planning to invest in Sabata, but after seeing the post about the R1 boxset due in October, thought I would wait for that instead.

Does anybody know for sure (or at least some measure of certainty) that Death Rides a Horse is not coming to R1? I'd like to get the R2 but don't want an R1 release to come out right after.

Yet another Leone book from Frayling, this looks to be more of an illustrated coffee table style book. Apparently it is being published to coincide with a Leone exhibition in L.A. this summer. This will be released July 2005.

It was at the Gene Autry Museum of the American West: http://www.museumoftheamericanwest.o...xhibits/leone/
It was quite honestly one of the neatest things I've ever witnessed at a museum. They had Eastwood's original poncho, boots, gun and holster that he used and wore during the trilogy. They had Henry Fonda's outfit that he wore in Once Upon a Time in the West, along with Claudia Cardinale's. They also had the saddle that Terence Hill rode in My Name is Nobody. Sadly, I could not take any pictures though.
If anyone is ever in the area, I highly recommend you go. Admission is $7.50 and the exhibit lasts until January 2006.

^Too bad I can't pay a visit down there
In other spaghetti-related news, starting next saturday on IFC, they're gonna have "spaghetti saturdays" with airings of Good/Bad/Ugly,For/Dollars More,Big Gundown and Great Silence. An hour long documentary, "Spaghetti West" will be shown before the movies.
Oh and I picked up that Diamond set of movies. Found a copy at Suncoast. But man, what's with this packaging??

Sabata Trilogy seems to have had a price drop before it came out. The msrp was 35.95 and I pre-ordered it at DDD for 25.07. I was just checking today on the release date and saw the msrp was now listed at 29.95 and DDD is now charging 22.49. I cancelled the first order and placed another.

Worth a thread bump to know that Navajo Joe will finally get it's long awaited-R1 release May 13th.

It's a fun movie. I think I said somewhere early in this thread that I enjoyed this one more than Django (Also directed by Corbucci)

Hmmm. This brings up an interesting point because there's a music difference between the foolscreen and widescreen version.
In the opening scene,
Spoiler:
The music is extended untill we go the main title. But in the widescreen version I saw on TCM, the music is not extended and is off synch when matching the main title and it's credits.
I'll try an audio explanation:
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hN1bJqU50iA&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hN1bJqU50iA&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
In the foolscreen version, the opening screaming goes on for about 8 more seconds. Perfectly matching the jump to the guitar lick for the main title, "Navajo Joe".
I really wonder if this is a problem that can no longer be fixed between the versions.
