Bleh, whats the point of them repackaging it if they're not gonna get rid of the double sided discs

Probably excess discs. I doubt they need to repress any right now.

Also at my local Target they had ONE copy of the repackaged version of Family Guy Volume 3, the other countless number of copies they had were pressed with the original packaging.
Same here..with the 1 copy of FG V3. All of the Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart stores around here don't have any of the other FG keep case repacks. So I snagged that one. Maybe they'll get the repacks the next time they reorder those sets or get sent those sets.

I notice the new and old versions have the same barcode SKU. Do you guys think it'd be possible to buy the new ones and return the old ones?

Thanks
Yes, if its exactly the same barcode.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

I love the size of the Big Bang Theory S1 & S2 and Chuck S1 cases. Chuck S2 is a thick case.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

Hey, have ANY of you had any problems with the new thinpacks (or whatever they're called)??? I have one of those, for my new Angel season 1. I know everyone is using them and Fox's work on the Angel case is very good, but there's just a little problem... Actually is more like a fear, that those holders will eventually fail to keep the discs safe. And then certain damage if they fall whenever someone opens the case.

I never had any accident with them, but the holders are so tiny and flaty and easy to release that I can't help but fear that with TIME and use they won't hold the discs anymore.

What do you think? Are they really safe?

I think they should be fine, they are probably no more prone to breaking than the hard plastic ones on older style packaging. If they do end up breaking i'm sure in the future when the company that makes them allows us to buy them separately, we should be able to just buy another spindle for them.

ooh, those stargate sg-1 repacks do look very nice, maybe we'll be able to get them at a nice price as well so I can avoid getting the complete series set

Good place to get scanned artwork? Bought a bunch of 4 disc DVD cases but most of the fan art sucks. Love to get the Arrested Development ones.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

Has anyone manged to find a site selling these 4-6 disc slimpacks (14mm spine) that have booklet clips? I keep searching and cannot find a good source for the clear cases, with the exception of a webstore based in Australia. Sorry I know the question has been asked a thousand time before, but eventuall someone will find them ..... hopefully!

I've been looking consistently, it still looks like they are not on sale to the general public, no idea why

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

If they are going to re-release King Of The Hill in these cases, then there must at least beare going to a steady demand for the DVDs. Release the rest of the series already FOX!

Wow, thats the 2nd repackage for Roswell. I know the first repackage was to promote Katherine Heigl as a star, will this new one be promoting Shiri Appleby as the star of "Life Unexpected"?

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

Glad to see Mary Tyler Moore will have consist packaging for the all of the seasons now. If I can find a decent sale price I might pick 'em up individually instead of waiting for the oft-delayed complete series set.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

Does there exist a definitive list of which shows and which seasons have been repackaged? I go into stores all the time that still have sets in old packages, and I'd like to know ahead of time if I am able to purchase them in the smaller format (you know, so I don't buy four seasons of the X-Files in old packaging and then learn the next day that they exist in snapcases).

Re: Fox TV gets smaller

Soap: Seasons 1 through 4 are being repacked by Sony on April 6th

Can't prove it for sure from the pictures, but it looks like Warner/HBO may be switching Sex and The City seasons to the keepcase style (possibly something similar to Flight of the Conchords -- keepcase with clear slipcover) on April 27th.

I saw slimline repacks of Friends in Target today. they looked sharp but that's one of the few shows on dvd i own that all the seasons match in box type and i have 'the one with all ten seasons' collector's box to keep them in. but for anyone who doesn't already own Friends on dvd...

I've seen all of Stargate SG-1 in the new packaging in stores (and the old packaging is way WAY better). Any word on Stargate Atlantis?
