Scratched DVD Cases

Lately I've been noticing that the plastic on my DVD cases have been getting scratched. The plastic wrapping that hold the DVD art gets very scratched up and old looking. Does anyone know what does this? How can you get rid of it? Movies with slipcovers never get like it.

Are you packing your DVDs together tightly on the shelf? That'll wear them down quickly. I always leave at least a space for 1 dvd on each shelf.

yeah, dont pack them in too tight. But it sounds like the cases are doing what they are supposed to be doing, protecting the dvds.
