Has anyone seen a case like this?

I just can't see why such an expansive set like The Ultimate Matrix Collection would skimp when it comes to the packaging.

Like I said I actually don't mind the case for the Matrix set although I guess it could be better.

I forget which two, but I believe it was three and five (as I said in the first post, that I have) have cases that are the same size as the double alpha cases, but only one opening, and the two discs sit semi-overlapping. If I recall correctly, other people had made mention of this in the past.
And these were in the original crew box set purchased from Best Buy.

He's right, actually. Paramount mostly issues them in standard double Alphas, but I got Part V in one of those weird Scanavo fat doubles with the disc stacking hub system. My friend purchased ST III recently, and got one as well (my ST III came in a normal Alpha double). I don't care what size they are, I can't stand them. I've even seen ones that are the same size as a standard Amaray and hold 8 discs, but I don't like: a) having to remove other discs first just to get to the one I want, and b) the highly increased probability of the discs scratching one another. The single-sized shell shouldn't be made to hold more than 4 discs. Anything more and you're asking for trouble.

Any suggestions on buying these "high-density" cases? - particularly the 6-discs in the space of 1.5 regular cases.
I found one seller on ebay, but they wanted $4 per case, and my max is $2. I don't mind buying a batch of up to 50 or so, I've got a lot of "fat" series that would compact down nicely (stargate and farscape, plus a lot of anime).

You could always break the hub off a standard single and just throw all your discs inside. That's about the same level of protection you'll get with these stacker-type cases.

Baloney.
I've used two different 4-in-1 designs for about a year now without a problem. A number of anime titles are actually starting to ship in the 6-in-1.5 cases and I have not heard of anyone with problems nor actually had any with them myself.
So, if you don't mind, how about a real answer?

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but just commenting on my experience, every single DVD I've received in the mail with that type of case has been loose and scratched. But glad to hear that yours came through fine at least!
