A New Day of the Dead DVD?!?!?

It seems that Anchor Bay is releasing a Day of the Dead DVD on 9/4/2004. It doesn't appear to be a remake or aynthing Anyone know what exactly this is? I haven't heard anything about....

It's just the first disc from the previous set.

Maybe they fix the horrendous Japanese "dub-ins" that were in the last release, but it is more likely just the same version but re-released as a single disc.

Yeah, I'm wondering about the changed audio.

I'd be very surprised if they fixed the audio problem. Too bad.

Around the film's initial release Fangoria/Cinefantastique published some pics of scenes that didn't make the final cut of the film. Including an alternate shot of the drill in the head zombie effect, that was inserted in between his eyes! (ouch, that's gotta hurt).

Damn, the extra footage should have been included on the 2 disc set. Unless, of course, the footage maybe no longer exists?

which is quite possible, it's just ashame that the aforementioned gore scene I detailed was actually deleted because the extra found the scene to be discomforting to perform, as I recall reading, it was an essentially a one shot take, as to why Savini used the alternate shot of drill through the forehead, is a mystery... hmmmm, fascinating stuff you read about but then just disappears into the annals of filmmaking history.
