Rewatch value of "Passion Of The Christ"?
Hi guys and gals. I have not seen Passion Of The Christ and will not because the subtitles here will be in Japanese, so, not much sense for me to shell out $17 to see it. But, I'm debating with myself about ordering the R-1 DVD. I like to stick with purchasing films which I will want to watch again in a year or so, so I'm asking you people who have seen it in the theaters - is this the type of film which one might to watch every year or two, or is a film which you want to see only once in 10 years???
Thanks in advance!

I was wondering the same thing. I plan on waiting for the SE release and will probably buy it myself.
I think it is a once a year..or every other year type of film. Pretty much like Requiem For A Dream,Cannibal Holocaust and other emotionally devasting films. Not something you would watch on a regularl basis I am sure.,unless you want to get depressed constantly. Then again, some people may watch it that much,I don't know. I think it would lose its impact if you watched it constantly, which is why I would stick to a year or two viewing of the film instead.
Then again I can watch Pink Floyd:The Wall a hundred times a year and am still wowed by it. Sure it is depressing as hell, but it is just an amazing film.
So I guess watch it when you feel like it. Most won't be in the mood to watch it constantly, but every year or two is not bad.

I tend not to keep depressing dramas no matter how good for just that reason. OK I've seen it, but will probably not want to see it again. For some reason this may be one to add to the collection just for what it stands for. I'll definately grab it when the price is right.

will definately agree with everyone here. I watched it once and that was it. I don't think it has any replay value at all.

If Jim Caviezel would have only sung Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life during the final scene, I would probably buy it.

If you enjoy watching scenes of graphic torture, then the rewatch value of the film might be high. If so, then you probably also already own 'Salo'.
For everyone else, these aren't the droids you're looking for, move along.

Saw the movie (was okay for what is was), don't have an interest in seeing it again. If the DVD has a lot of extras I may consider buying it, but only if there is something special.

I was talking about this with a friend the other night, and he summed it up best --- it's not something you'll watch a thousand times, but when you do, it will be a powerful experience every single time.
