is swingers getting re-released?

i thought i read on somewhere on the boards here last week that swingers was getting re-released. i was going to get it last week in best buys 3 for 20 deal then i saw a post of it getting released agin so i didn't. i can't find the post that says it. i remember posting in the thread to thank the op, since i was going to buy an older version. i looked and there is a regular edition and a collectors edition already, so that hurts my arguement.
i was looking around and saw that rounders is also getting another re release. i may be mixing up the two. i don't think so though. there's already a regular and se of rounders out too isn't there?
anyway, i'm confused. is there a new swingers coming out, or should i make another order with ddd before friday? thanks

the one with the black cover is the newest one. if I remember right it contains a hell of a lot more extras that its previous release (orange cover), that one I beleive only had a trailer as an extra.

I think you are safe

Swingers was re-released as part of the Miramax Collector's Series in September of 2002. It's got all the usual extras (commentary, deleted scene, featurettes), so I doubt we'll be seeing another release any time soon.

You've probably got it mixed up with Rounders, which has only been released once, with a non-anamorphic transfer and no extras. The CE in September will be anamorphic and have extras.

Swingers probably won't get released again until the HD version is ready (several years from now). Just make sure you get the CS, which has both Vince and Jon on the cover.

The Collector's Series is also anamorphic whereas the older version is not. Don't waste any money on the older edition - the CS is superior in every capacity.

yes. but still no 5.1. Not that there is much in the film that calls for it, it would just be a nice perk.

thanks everybody. i don't know what happened last week now though. i was all set to bet it through best buy's 3 for 20, until i started hallucinating. oh well, it's going to be less than a dollar more through ddd.

Considering this incredibly low-budget film wasn't recorded in 5.1, I don't think we really need a 5.1 remix of it. Would probably sound as unnatural as all of the other fake 5.1s out there -- "The Godfather," etc...
