Saturn 5 ?

I was thinking of some old sci-fi movies and remember seeing a film YEARS and YEARS ago with Farah Fawcett and Kirk Douglas.
They are on a moon of Saturn and a robot helper of theirs goes on a killing rampage. Anyone remember this flick and better yet, is it out on DVD?

It was called Saturn 3. It's currently out-of-print, but you can buy it brand new at Amazon Marketplace for $2.99 plus $2.49 shipping. I'm not certain about the aspect ratio, but I believe it is full frame. For less than $5.50 shipped...it's a steal.

At this price, if you don't buy it, I probably will.

Yes, as Global Observer says, it's OOP, but readily available for practically nothing.

If you have a FYE, Strawberries, Saturday Matinee near you, you may want to check there. Most of those stores had them for about $5 each a while back and I still see them every now and again.

However, I must warn you that (a) the film sucks hard and (b) the DVD is terrible and pan & scan.

I don't think the film sucks, it's just an odd film but if you collect sci fi it should be part of your collection.

Even though it's in pan and scam, it won't get rereleased so get it and enjoy!

maybe I'm thinking of another film, but didn't this film run into ratings problems and one scene (a rape scene I believe) was axed in order to receive it's R-rating?

I seem to remember a scene in which the robot menaces Farah Fawcett Majors was trimmed as it suggested rape.

And I believe Harvey Keitel's voice is dubbed by British actor Roy Dotrice - obviously he was not that big a name at the time.

I highly doubt that this will never get re-released. I'm sure it's not at the top of the pile, but it'll come eventually.

Hear, hear!

This is a good sci-fi movie and it *will* be released in Widescreen in Region 1 eventually.

BTW, I always wonder when people declare that something will *never* be released or re-released just where they are getting their data.

Actual he was a pretty "big" name, he once said in a interview he got, at the time, most money than any other film for SATURN 3. Something to do with him refusing to return for re-loop, and that his bronx accent "just wasnt menacing enough" the director felt.

Thanks for the heads-up! I just bought it. $5.50 shipped is indeed a steal.
