Just got back from vacation to find that Amazon now has the Complete 3-season set up for advance order. I saw the pics of the Japanese set above and assume that the US version will have the same deluxe box and communicator -- any disc content extras that anyone knows about?

There is no reason to assume that. The US has not embraced the deluxe box concept like countries such as Japan, where presentation has a high value (see Alien Quad Head). The Complete Set at Amazon will just be the three box sets shipped at once (in the US).
