Anamorphic version of "The Thing" on 10/12/04
From DVD File website:
I know many collectors have been clamoring for this, so I just thought I'd mention it (although someone else would have sooner or later).
And last but not least is a chilly thriller that is a far cry from family entertainment, the John Carpenter cult classic The Thing. Universal will be reissuing the flick in a newly-remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer, with all the same extras as the current (and now discontinued) special edition: "Terror Takes Shape" documentary, audio commentary with star Kurt Russell and Carpenter, a still gallery, deleted footage, a still gallery and trailer. Retail will also list for $14.95.

Dang! For $14.95 (and probably less) I might have to double dip on this one.
Who wants a pristine OOP version!?

I'm a little confused. What's the difference between The Thing by John Carpenter and The Thing from another world!?
Is The Thing by John Carpenter a remake of The Thing from another world!?
I have The Thing from another world! and it says Standard version presented in a format preserving the aspect ratio of its original theatrical exhibition. So I assume this is the best version of this old classic unlike The Thing by John Carpenter.
