I personally love Ran and Throne of Blood. There isn't such thing as a bad Kurosawa film.

Although Kurosawa is my favorite director,
I must say "I Live In Fear/Record Of A Living Being" was extremely lacking.
I really felt that movie was a bomb (no pun intended) on Kurosawa standards,
especially since it was made right after Seven Samurai in 1955.

Although I must admit, even though the story was lacking,
Mifune was excellent playing a 70 year old man in heavy makeup.

As much as I love Kurosawa's films, I have never been able to make it through Kagemusha.

I'd like to chime in to defend Red Beard. I found it to be much more emotional than Ikiru. I liked Ikiru but I think the movie jumped ahead totally unexpectedly and then told the story in flashbacks which really threw me off. I enjoyed it but I like Kurosawa movies with Mifune better.
