Greystoke The Legend of Tarzan, reviews?
Anyone seen this or read anything on it yet?
I personally really liked this film, thought that the cinematography was breathtaking. Christopher Lambert did a fine job as did Ian Holms and Ralph Richardson was great as Tarzans grandfather and IMO how can you not like looking at Andie McDowall.
anyway any news?

well...I bought it the day it came out but fell asleep twords the end(it was pretty damn late). what I did notice is that it sounded awesome and looked better than I have ever seen it look. I'm trying to figure out what has been added to the film though. I was hoping that the scene where he meets the king of england would be there....but never saw it or any other "lost" footage. maybe I just missed it...but I doubt it.

I think it was the same as the letterbox VHS (content-wise). I think the only footage added in the International Version is the musical prelude & possibly something right at the beginning? I'd been waiting for this since it was on HDnet in awesome HD. At the time someone argued with me in another post, that it didn't mean it would be on dvd because it was on in HD. But almost every movie on that staion (that's not already out) has come out a few months later- Greystoke, After Hours, Eddie Murphy Raw, Going In Style, Shakedown, The Late Show. They just started showing Hooper, so maybe there will finally be a widescreen release. Still waiting for Doctor Detroit & Man With 2 Brains.

Nice release, I'd only ever seen the dreaded video releases in the past, was nice to see it in the original aspect ratio for the first time.
