Favorite packaging so far this year?
A few of my favorties:

I liked the Schindlers list gift set. Kind of awkward to get the contents out of it, but still quite classy.
For Region 1, the Freaks and Geeks Limited Edition packaging is the one to beat so far this year.
I also like the Disney tins but they are the same from previous waves. I have to disagree with you in regards to the packaging for "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" since I found it cumbersome and did not like the design at all. |
I have to second Saving Private Ryan. Very, very nice.

I know this release was tainted with loose-disc problems but it's the coolest damn thing to have. |
Going w/ the Monster Legacy Gift Set. Looks awesome in my DVD Collection.
I think the Monster Collection so far is the best followed by The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
I really like the packaging for Jonny Quest: Season 1. Nothing new or extravagant, but cool looking.
Another vote for SPR.
Another vote for Master and Commander. I love the feel of the "linen" box and the sepia-toned nautical artwork is awesome.
I actually like the Northern Exposure packaging. I like the whole nostalgic down vest look.
I guess I'm alone but this by far gets my vote. Of everything I bought in 2004, this looks the coolest on my shelf. . .

I will have to agree with 'mike45' about the whole take with Northern Exposure's packaging, definitely very cool! But if I had to pick one of my own, I would go with...The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2-disc edition).
I liked the Schlinder's List set.

monster legacy
Wrestlemania XX 3 disk
Any movie that comes in a standard keep case.
I really like the way HB packaged the Flintstones, Scooby Doo, and the Jetsons.
Close second is the Monster Legacy Box Sets.... Paul |
I'm gonna go with the Schindlers list gift set.
Far and away The Pink Panther Collection, it's so hip. The way the discs are set isn't too practical, but man is it cool.
Freaks and Geeks LE Yearbook, easily
Pink Panther Collection
I like Master and Commander's.
I have to go with the R2 Kill Bill. That is just so cool.
Monster Legacy
The Kill Bill R2 box is awesome just for the way it stands out with the see-through acrylic sleeve. However, IMO it's going to be hard for any SE set to beat the Freaks and Geeks Yearbook.
What about the R2 Japan Alien Head for the quadroligy?
That was quite cool! |
I love the Scarface giftset...ultimate cool box.
Do you have the pic of the alien set? |
For R1, it has to be the Freaks and Geek LE DVD set so far.

Probably Freaks & Geeks Yearbook.
But I also really like... Curb Your Enthusiasm S1. I love the way the discs slide out both ways. I thought it was pretty cool, maybe others didn't. Hopefully S2 follows the same pattern. |
I really like this packing for the Italian movie Cinema Nuovo

either GBU or Master and Commander
Another vote for the Japanese Kill Bill box set. The very sturdy box with the partially see-through outer sleeve is cool.
