Problem with Return of the King

Hey guys-

I was just wondering if any of you had problems with the extras disc of Return of the King in a Playstation 2.

It worked fine both in my computer and on my main DVD player, but when I tried to watch the on TV spots, trailers, or the supertrailer on the PS2, I got read errors, I got choppy video, etc.

I was wondering if this happened to anyone else before I try and exchange it for another copy. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a PS2 problem first.

Thanks

I've heard, in the past, about PS2s not being able to play certain discs. Who knows why othan than it's a video game machine first, DVD player second.

I played one tv spot on my PS2 without any problems. Also watched all the docs with no issues (as well as the movie of course).

I dont own a copy to check at the moment (I borrowed the one I watched). It was the canadian version so not sure if that makes a difference.

I can watch the docs and stuff just fine, it's just the trailers and TV spots that I'm having a problem with.

Is the Canadian version also Region 1?

I didn't see any complaints elsewhere, so I thought maybe it was just the individual disc. Figured I'd ask around and see, maybe it's the PS2.

Thanks for helping out guys, and if anyone else has had this problem, let me know.

Thanks

If it worked on 2 DVD-ROMs and a real DVD player, why would you think the disc was defective because it wouldn't play on a video game machine?

Hey Pixy, that's why I was asking here and wondering if other people were having the same problem, so I know for sure that's it's probably just the PS2.

I think you're right though, I'd bet anything it's the PS2.

And that is a lot of Oscars to try and fit into that small PS2 disc slot.

It's not unusual for some discs to not work in a PS2. For some reason Jeepers Creepers 2 doesnt work on my machine.

I really should buy a proper dvd player (preferably divx compatible and multi region )

Divx? I think I got a mint condition 8-track player laying around here. Maybe it'll play the ROTK Disc 2.

He meant the DIVX compression scheme that most movies downloaded on the internet are using, not the old disposable format.

Was out at Walmart where I picked the DVD up for 14.87 last week and they were more than happy to exchange it for me with a receipt, so I went ahead and tried it.

Stuck it in the PS2, it worked fine. So, turns out, it was the last disc. Wierd.

Just an update.
