Eurotrip Unrated DVD

haha this movie was hilarious but I hate how these movies are released on dvd as UNRATED editions when they have about 10 seconds more of absolutely nothing. On the old school unraed dvd there was one line that was added into the movie. Whata ripoff. Anyways, anyone previewed the dvd yet?

Yeah But does the 10 secs make the movie a better movie?
I think it was a waste of a DVD.

absolutely not. i think it is a total waste and I would rather have the souped up version with extras on the theatrical version of the flick

Nope. The only thing I noticed added was a little more in the hot tub. I was expecting so much more from this Unrated. I deem it a Gimmick Unrated film.

A gimmick? Yes. A rip-off no. When you buy those unrated DVD's that Universal tends to release with their teen comedies you DO only get about 10 seconds of extra footage. But its not a rip off, you are paying the same price that you would if you were buying the theatrical version and you are getting the same extras.

Who said it was a rip off? I say call a spade a spade. the extra footage wouldn't have made it anything more than an R rating anyways. no need to have it "UNRATED" other than that it is the gimmick to get folks to buy it.

Rypro, it's not about more footage, it's about actual footage that would warrent a harder rating. These unrated films typically can be resubmitted and still get the same rating.

According to a review at the HTF, around 90 seconds is reinstated into the film.

And remember, the unrated DVD includes more special features than the rated DVD. Including a second commentary track with the writers and directors and other goodies.

Yeah, I don't get why it's a ripoff. No guarantees about what the unrated part is or how long it is. And you get the same DVD at the same time for the same price with the same extras as the theatrical version. What's to complain about. You basically get the extra stuff for free, even if its only a few seconds.

I have not seen it yet... my town seems to be movie theater challenged when it comes to having a variety of films, and this particular title never came to town. SO either R or Unrated I will just be happy to see it.

well, technically, the first american pie is the unrated nc17 version. they tried submitting the version thats on the unrated version, but couldn't secure the r rating. oh and i do realize that most of these are marketing gimmicks. the director for american wedding even said that they shot a hell of alot of stuff for the bachelor party just to put it in the unrated dvd, and had no intention of putting the majority of the footage in theaters.

The SKU # has been changed for Eurotrip (unrated, and rated), but don't quite know if the DVDs with the new SKU #s have stuff excised from the original DVD release.

Yes what is up with the sku #? I would risk buying it blind just in case something was altered. But since I am broke right now,I don't want to risk it just yet.

It could be just a hoax on something 'questionable' being deleted from the film/dvd..but I would want legit confirmation on that, over internet rumors.

Yeah, the Unrated edition has not only 90 seconds more film (a cheap marketing ploy) but more extra features.

The regular versions of these kinds of films are pretty much only made for Walmart and other retail and rentail outlets that won't stock unrated DVDs.

No one who would want to watch this movie would want the regular version. It's silly. The unrated editions outsell the rated versions 10 to 1.

Anybody have any info regarding the new sku #'s for the unrated version?

Did they actually take out some footage? It is listed at the discontinued section of hometheaterinfo.com as going OOP on June 20, 2004.

The unrated edition also has an easter egg.

From the DVD’s Main Menu go to the 'Special Features' section and there go to the second page. Now select the 'Production Notes' menu entry and when the next screen appears press the 'Up' arrow key on your remote control. This will highlight the 'No photography' sign at the top of the screen. Press 'Enter' now and you will get to see a photo gallery of behind-the-scenes pictures from the filming of the movie.

Yeah, I really found this to be funny and enjoyable.

The extras are also very good.

It's too bad it's been discontinued. Evidently there's a music cue that they can no longer use, so they're recalling all of the Unrated versions and will be re-issuing a new version with some deleted footage/audio.

I want to see whatever version was shown in theaters. Nothing silly about that.

Alan, they do not show special features from a DVD in most movie theatres.

Do you not buy any DVDs unless they are bare bones?

To clear up the confusion, as posted on another website, it is because on the menu screens, on the first version, you only hear the audio of the "Green Fairy". You were supposed to be able to see him.

Nothing was edited, no music changed, they just fixed the graphic (which is what I thought, since it took me a minute to realize it was the Fairy's voice I was hearing on the menu).
