Anyone know where to get the EE's in an online store or B&M for the cheapest, under $20.00 perhaps? I've seen some on eBay but not too many new which is what I would like. Thanks for any help.

According to dvdpricesearch.com : WAL*MART at $24.98
Other than that, you'll probably have to find some coupons to get the price down to what you want to pay for it.

You can get them for less than $20 with a Columbia House membership but it is way more complicated than just buying from a typical on-line retailer. If you really want to dip your toe in the Columbia House waters you can learn more about it in the DVD Clubs forum. Start with the two sticky threads at the top. It isn't easy but it is cheap.

As big a fan I am of the movies, I skipped the giftset for The Two Towers. I just really didn't like the Gollum statue. If I find it at a really good price, I may pick it up to be a completest.

Does anybody have an idea as to what the collectable will be for the ROTK giftset?

To put it another way... when I saw the TE of Fellowship I thought it was a bit too long, and could have used a trimming. After seeing the EE, I wished it was LONGER. Without prior knowledge of the story, some of the scenes initially seemed like dead weight filler, but fleshed out in the EE those same scenes were enriched.

You can find the first versions at used DVD stores or places like Hollywood/BlockB for $10. HV is having a 3 For $25 right now and I saw some TT (I live in Atlanta, GA). I like having both versions. The extras are also different.

Yes . . . I have them both.

As far as the TE vs. EE is concerned, I look at the seeing the theatrical release in the theaters as something that I did to hold me over until the EE's were released on DVD. I don't own the TE's on DVD and don't ever plan to because I know I would never watch them when I have the EE's.

my sentiments exactly..with the EE's..the TE's seem pointless.

I have the FOTR giftset with the Argonath book ends. I didn't buy the TTT gift set because that gollum statue makes me want to throw up.
