I'd like to see widescreen versions of Sudden Death and Kindergarten Cop.

The current The Thing dvd is out of print so I would expect that special edition is in the works. Also, Universal's Terry Gilliam titles (12 Monkeys, Brazil, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas) are out of print so they may be getting new editions. Anchor Bay's Where the Buffalo Roam also went out of print so I could see Universal releasing it themselves in a 2-pack with Fear & Loathing.

Are some of these posts jokes or something? Several Universal titles mentioned are already released, been released by Criterion, or are in the works.

Anyways, I'll put in another vote for "Frighteners". I dont' get why they won't release this one...with all the popularity of Peter Jackson and the material already produced.

I hate universal.

The Deer Hunter could use an Animorphic WS transfer and some of the extras from other regions (such as the Cimino commentary).

I really want Anamorphic re-releases of TWINS, KINDERGARTEN COP and TREMORS real bad w/ loads of extras. Classic films that need to be treated right on DVD.

Dracula ('79)
Matinee
Flash Gordon
The Thing
The Sting
- all need anamorphic remasters

i would also love to see Jaws get a new disc w/ the original mono track being made available, along with the uncut doc.
this should have been a two disc CE all along.

I liked Van Damme's Lionheart. That definately needs an upgrade. The current disk has the worst transfer I've ever seen. The American President is better than this.

Besides those already mentioned, I'd like to see:

Anamorphic remasters for...

Conan the Destroyer
Rumble Fish
Dune
High Plains Drifter

And releases period for...

Phantasm II
Miami Vice (Season Box Sets)

Does Universal have the rights to the out of print "Jude?" (Michael Winterbottom's adaption of Thomas Hardy's novel "Jude the Obscure" starring Kate Winslet.)

It was available for a very short time from USA Films, most of whose catalog went to Universal.

I'd love to see a new edition of Matinee with a 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 (and maybe DTS), and the original "MANT" feature included as an extra (similar to the DVD) which was missing from the Image OOP DVD.

I'd also love to see a new edition of Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie. The current non-anamorphic transfer on the OOP DVD is one of the best non-anamorphic transfers out there. If they can do the same great job on an anamorphic transfer, it would be beautiful.

I'd love to see Tremors and Tremors 2 in amamorphic widescreen. The current non-anamorphic transfers aren't so good.

I'd buy Problem Child and Problem Child 2 if they were in widescreen. I would've also enjoyed some deleted scenes. Hell, include the made-for-television movie sequel on there as well as some of the episodes of the cartoon series and you can make it a nice special edition.

I believe they have the rights. There are several other USA Films discs that they haven't re-released including Thursday, The Hi-Lo Country, Plunkett & MacLeane, and Going All the Way.
