A friend of mine has this (he own's a video rental). It's only 30 minutes long and serves as a prequel to the movie (focusing on Van Helsing's first encounter with Mr. Hyde). My friend loved it, despite it's short length. He tells me it was done anime style. I've yet to borrow it from him, though, so I can't say more than what he told me about it.

Just got it for $9.59 at Costco. Not bad at all. It's not great but was good fun. Production I.G. participated in the animation. It's not their best work but it's not their worst. It's like seeing what Production I.G. would produce if they were making Saturday morning cartoons.
The transfer is pretty good and the audio, though not spectacular, sounds good as well. It's basically a combination of elements from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (the comic book, not the movie) and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, albeit a low rent cousin as far as animation and artwork are concerned.
