I never heard of Scarecrow Video. I will start believing Duel is coming out (again) when I see Amazon and other name retailers advertising it. I missed out like most when a few copies slipped out the first time. Stupid people are paying stupid prices on EBAY. I love this movie but (NO) movie is worth that price to me.

I bought a copy of this on eBay for $40. It was guaranteed authentic. It wasn't. I paid with PayPal. The person didn't use "Delivery Confirmation." PayPal's bidder protection policy states that if someone cannot prove the package was shipped to you, you get a refund. This person couldn't prove it, and they were not smart enough to go pitch a postcard in the mail with a tracking number.

What did I get? A DVD that has THX and plays great. However, I've compared it with an original and it is not the same cosmetically. I get to enjoy the movie for free at the expense of a bootlegger...

He absolutely did NOT. He paid for an authentic copy and got a bootleg. He asked for his money back and was rebuffed, so he used Paypal to get it back.

He got turned down by seller? Didn't he say he tried the old "I didn't recieve, you can't prove it" trick? Thats what he said,....the seller couldn't prove he recieved it.

Bootleg copy for free? Good deal. Maybe that'll teach the rotten bootlegger. Enjoy your free DVD

I was robbed by being sold a bootlegged DVD marketed as authentic, so I snatched my money back. I wouldn't call that stealing.

Oh, and the seller even left me a positive feedback

But since he did have some sort of loss, I didn't ream him with a negative. I just let it go.

Why not post its a bootleg to help other Ebayers? He already left you positive feedback, he can't neg you back.

Duel has been re-announced to arrive on 8/17/04.
