Bob Roberts is OOP, right? If so, Sweet!

Hey gang,

I was just curious if Bob Roberts was OOP or not. I've seen it on the shelves at Amoeba with a $45 price tag and OOP sticker on it, but I wanted to be sure.

Because I just found at least 2 copies for $6.99 at Walgreen's today. I bought 2, and I'm hoping to make a profit sellnig one back at Amoeba.

So what's the truth, people? I'm dying to know.

Nope. It can barely sell past $2.99 on ebay. Good luck with those copies though.

Must have been signed by Tim.

The good news is..... you saved $0.98 from the DeepDiscount price, and most other on-line sites are charging as much as $9.98 for this!

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
You can get this title at Walmart for $8.47.

It's not OOP. Pretty decent film, actually - always nice and relevant during an election year.

I wouldn't take a lot of prices that you see at Amoeba too seriously. It is a cool store and I like supporting independent businesses, but they really overprice many of their used dvds. I have also seen some mislabled out of print items. The one that I am pretty sure isn't out of print, but I remember being displayed as such is the MGM disc of "The Sure Thing". Even on regular used dvds, they overcharge. For instance, to buy a used Blue Underground disc, they typically charge 14.98 from what I've seen. The same disc can be bought new at Best Buy for that price or for 11.98 at Deep Discount DVD. The one bonus is a knowledgeable staff and the fact that they do carry some non-R1 DVDs. Anyway, enough of my ramblings.

The Amoeba in Hollywood also, for at least a couple months, had the "Ghostbusters" DVD marked as "Out of Print." As far as I know, that DVD has never been out of print. I don't know if they did it on purpose to milk more money out of the gullible, or just made a mistake. Either way, like jrsl76 said, they're not to be trusted.

Not OOP? Amoeba's Wrong? Only one thing to do...

In that case, I'm gonna try and sell it back to Amoeba for anything more than seven bucks. I'll let you know what happens.

END TRANSMISSION
