You got sold something that does not exsist. Look at amazon.com, it is not released yet.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...v=glance&s=dvd

I would tell amazon the guy is selling something he probably taped of the television and making it look like a real product.

It's obviously a bootleg. You should retract your bid and wait for it to come out when it's slated to, which I think is in November (in time for the holiday season).

Perhaps you're a huge Seinfeld fan and can't waithat long for it to come out then. However, IF you're a huge Seinfeld fan, you'll also be double dipping and getting it again when the offical set comes out. That's because it'll have the much-anticipated (and the reason for the release's delay) cast commentary, not to mention other extras.

You're obviously going to do what you want to do, but if you're seeking opinions than I'd NOT bid on it and just wait till it officially comes out.

YOU GOT SERVED!

it's bootlegs. The covers alone give that away. Don't pay him. If he tries to report you as a non paying customer report him to ebay (yeah, like they will care) and threaten to file a report to the MPAA or even say RIAA. those words, even though the MPAA wouldn't handle this for reasons it's a tv broadcast, will scare the crap out of him and you will get off not buying these bootlegs.

As the others have stated, this is obviously a bootleg, but your other concern...should you decide to buy it anyway...is that the seller has 0 feedbacks!!! As such, eBay's insurance won't be in effect if he stiffs you. If you do buy this thing, insist on paying this seller via PayPal...make the payment through Paypal.com, not his link (just in case)...and pay the extra for insurance (0 feedbacks means no free fraud insurance from PayPal as well.)

I'm sure you can try to retract the payment. Claim something along the lines of fraud charges or misinformation on product.

If you paid via an instant transfer I dont think you can retract the payment. You sir, are screwed. Next time, do some research before buying something that does not exist.

Hmmm look at the other bidders. Only around 5 bidders... 2 have 1 feedback and you don't have any. This is Seinfeld so you gotta wonder why so many stayed away from this auction.

Uh, you say you already paid for it? According to the link you provided, the auction is still active... 2 days to go.

I assume he contacted the guy outside of ebay and agreed to a separate deal. And this is an even worse idea.

I was thinking along different lines. I thought that he had just won an auction that had just ended, and the seller had just started another one. Instead of providing a link to the one that he won, the o.p. provided a link of his ongoing one.

Could be wrong. Either way, I feel bad for the o.p.

The seller can REFUND the Paypal payment for 30 days - I suggest you email this scumbag and tell him to refund immediately unless he's interested in having you forward all the information to the appropriate industry and legal authorities who would be most interested in his activities.

Why do people always ask advice about these kinda things when it's too late to help them?

I may call shenanigans on this one...

New member in April 2004.

Ebay auction HAD buy it now...but it is still going and up to $152.

Sounds like he may have been promoting his own sale.

Just checked again and it came up as an INVALID item.

Noone used Buy it Now...there were like 6 bids.

If the o.p. already paid $185 for something he didnt bother to look into at all, well, i feel a little bad, but try doing at least a little research before spending that much money on something on ebay.

I checked through the ended listings on eBay for the past 30 days and didn't see the $185 auction.

Sounds like the OP was trying to promote his own auction, hoping that someone would buy his bootlegs that keep getting removed (rightfully so) from eBay.

NICE TRY, PAL

Since the auction that was posted here was removed by ebay (came up invalid earlier when i looked), wouldn't it not come up under completed items...since once they remove an auction it pretty much never existed?

I looked at the ad earlier- the listing had a "pay now" button which took you directly to paypal where you could send the guy money- whether or not you won the auction (which is also a nice way to get around paying ebay fees). I'd assume that's what the OP did.

I don't feel bad at all. If someone is dense enough to spend that much money, on something that is obviously a bootleg of something that doesn't even exist in the first place, then I don't feel bad at all for them.

I'd be like someone "buying" the Golden Gate Bridge, and then coming here and asking for advice and asking if they got ripped off.

*ahem*

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeresssssssssss your sign!
