my biggest is not listed. I have a widescreen TV and it annoys me that special features usually are notin anomophoric widescreen. After watching the movie I have to keep adjusting to standard mode or zoom depending on the feature (one of the things I liked about Texas Chainsaw Massacre 03 2 disc was that most of the features were anamophoric)

I went with snappers, but Rattlers is my largest peeve when it comes to physical DVDs (bare bones editions is my REAL # 1).
The security sticker thing is quite annoying as well. The other stuff doesn't really bother me that much.

DVD Talk Legend
full screen DVDs for widescreen movies
snapper cases
DVD covers that are longer than the case, then dont fit, so the cover sticks out getting all wrecked
dings, scratches, rips in soft cases/digipaks
forced trailers
BLOCKBUSTER, and how they put stickers on the covers themselves, and not on the cases.

The security sensor sticker right behind your discs with the clear plastic shielding it,usually in slipcases. You try to rip the sticker off and it'll tear the cheap papercover off. ugghhh!

99th voter says "Forced trailers." Don't get me wrong, I love trailers (the more the better) but I've already seen most of them and like to pick and choose. (Better a special feature)
And commercials . . . don't get me started there! Although my player will usually find a way around them (menu, chapter skip, fast forward, and more recently found out that just hitting "Stop" and then "Play" will usually go to the menu) I still don't like the fact that they are forced.

I find ratio issues to be the most important and unforgiveable issue, but at least in my collection that hasn't really been an issue; what gets me is more and more having to sit through forced trailers. Petty as it all really is.

I take Pet Peeve to mean "lil prob, but not big enough ta stop ya from owning it." By my connotation, Aspect ratio isn't a Pet Peeve, it's an issue.
My biggest Pet Peeve is the stickers. It's funny to me when I borrow a friend's disc and he to has the lil marks on the cover, usually near the top, where he pierced the plastic while taking off the sticker. Check it out next time you are at a friend's place and see. Doesn't happen everytime, but when it does, it just makes it look cruddy.

I've got another that I haven't seen on here yet: How about no "Play All" on TV shows and especially special features that are broken down into little 5-10 minute segments?

#1 Double Dipping, mainly because it's usually a pain-in-the-ass to unload the original disc.
#2 Damaged Cases, nothing bugs me more then having to go in and deal with store clerks that don't think a damaged case warrents a exchange.

I dont bitch about much when it comes to dvd. the biggest thing is manufacturing quality...with the discs themselves. not many problems of late...but I keep concerned and vocal because I want my library to last as long as I choose to take care of it.
one thing I want that I dont get often is isolated music scores. just count that as a "feature" that I dont get enough of, and it's kind of a bummer.
could care less about what kind of case the discs comes in, big-headed coverart, inserts, menus...and all that stuff. it takes no enjoyment away from the film itself...or collecting. I'm usually happy with what I get because I make good choices.

FBI Warnings and Forced trailers are the same to me.
I'd prefer OAR on everything, and if it isn't I wont buy it.
I can make new cases for bad hubs, snappers, crappy artwork, etc...
But I cant do anything about forced trailers.......
