Yes, ANY type of such labeling means nothing.
Having the title on the label is helpful.

All it has ever taken for the Special Edition label to appear on a DVD is to include ONE of the following:

*Trailer
*Bios
*Production Notes (on an insert)
*Animated Menus

Well when one studio alone has the following:

Limited Edition
Gold Series
Platinum Edition
Masterpiece Edition

It is tired and redundant. SE title alone is worthless anymore.

I want the movie or I don't, so what's the value of that "special edition" garbage anyway? It DOES seem that they are just beginning to make those special editions, Master and Commander being a case in point........and slapping an extra $10 on the price tag. I think it's a great movie but I'm not going to start paying $30 apiece for special editions of every single movie I like.

I used to enjoy getting a SE. Watch all the extras. Good times. Now every disc is packed and I rarely if ever watch the features anymore. Only on the films I love now. Exception: Deleted scenes. I will always check those out.
