Are these both the same movies by Lucio Fulci? The "Zombi 2" that is coming out 7.27, are there any specs on it and if it is the same as "Zombie" is there any differences in the DVD sets, more extras or better pic quality? Thanks for any info.

yes its Fulci's zombie. I think there was a thread about it some time ago. I think the picture quality was supposed to be better, and I forgot what extras were planned for it.

As for this new Zombi 2 disc, I heard something about four hours of extras?? (The existing commentary track counts as 90 minutes I suppose...) That's a lot of extras, but I think I'll keep my AB disc. Just don't go and poke your eye out.

Okay, here's the deal.

George Romero makes this movie called "Dawn of the Dead."

When "Dawn of the Dead" makes it to Europe, Dario Argento recuts it and the movie is retitled "Zombi."

An unofficial sequel to "Zombi" is made by Lucio Fulci, and this movie is called "Zombi 2."

When "Zombi 2" is released in the U.S.A., it is re-titled "Zombie."

The Lucio Fulci movie "Zombi 2" has been released on DVD (with a very poor transfer) by Anchor Bay under the title "Zombie." Media Blasters/Shriek Show will be putting out a special of edition of this movie this summer under the title "Zombi 2," presumably with a better transfer.

In addition to the improved transfer this new version will feature a Shark/Zombie commentary, though unfortunately they were recorded separately due to scheduling conflicts.

glad I sold off my AB disc...this one sounds excellent!

I'm going to wait until after it's released. I'd hate Shriek Show to screw up the aspect ratio like they did "Blood of the Zombie". They used a beautiful print of the film but somebody made a technical mistake doing the transfer and everybody is squashed in to fit.

why does this everyone slam AB's transfer, obviousily you've never seen the worst that's out there in terms of Horror films on DVD's, check out "Pieces", now that's a hideous looking print.

is this going to be in the BU edition or the SS edition?
