Last of the mohican - another version?

I maybe have dreamed it but I remember I scene where Hawkey and M. Stowe where traped in a hut, than both of them stepped outside where Hawkeye pretended to shoot M. Stowe burried her in a shallow grave then left the place. The surrounding Indians how only had interest in M. Stowe left too.
Hawkeye returned, dig her up and they both go met with the rest at the waterfall-Cave.

I am not exactly sure where I saw that, maybe in a plane, or in german cinemas. but I never so that version again.

Anyone saw that version too??

Nope. Never seen a version of the movie where Hawkeye pretends to shoot at Cora.

The current DTS release has decent anamorphic picture (as opposed to the initial non-anamorphic version) and great 5.1 sound to boot.

It would be nice Fox would release the theatrical cut as I think it's the superior version of LOTM.

Not only that, but there was a Masterpeice Theatre version of the Mohicans that was made for PBS, that I used to watch decades ago. featuring an opening narration by the recently deceased Alistar Cooke. I would love to have that version also if it ever was to come out on DVD that is.

I also agree that the theatrical cut is better than the director's cut. I'd buy a theatrical version if they released it...

That's pretty wicked. Doesn't seem much like Last of the Mohicans. But it sounds like a good scene. I'd like to know what movie it's actually from.

Hawkeye... my favorite Avenger

Well, if it's featuring Hawkeye, I'd hazard a guess (and it's kind of out of left field)...

M*A*S*H?

Yeah. No. Sorry.

END TRANSMISSION

I'd sell my Director's cut in a heartbeat if they ever released the theatrical version, which is vastly superior.

Every single change in the director's cut except for 1 (the deletion of the "serious disagreement" line) really hurts the movie, IMHO.

Are there any other region releases for Last of the Mohicans which retains the theatrical version along with the DTS sound? I really want to get this release, but of course do not want the Director's Cut.

I like to see the original song 'I will find you' put back in the scene of the movie where Hawkeye was looking for Cora. Why did they take that song out and put in the generic sound?

Probably because it's the only piece of music with vocals in the movie. It's seems out of place.

Regions 2 and 4, however, do have the theatrical cut available. Anamorphic, no less.

I get the sense that Michael Mann vastly prefers the director's cut, and that Michael Mann, in general, doesn't like to have multiple cuts of the same film packaged together (he wasn't involved in the initial 'Manhunter' disc, but part of his stipulation of the new one was that it not include the theatrical cut at all, even though Anchor Bay screwed the pooch on the original version of the theatrical cut; thus, there is no way to get the proper theatrical cut on DVD in R1).

so no chance of a R1 theatrical release then?

Guess it'll have to be the director's cut for me.

I'd like to see the silent version that featured Bela Lugosi as Uncas.

If anyone has a link to where I can purchase the theatrical cut with DTS please post it! I want this movie, but will not buy the extended edition.. I've heard bad things about it.

You cannot buy the theaterical version with DTS. You can buy the old theaterical version R2 (above poster says R4 as well - I am not sure about that though) but Dolby Digital.

I believe the theaterical version's video quality is poor, comparable or worse to the non-DTS directors edition that came out R1.

I hate how some of the best movies get the worst DVD treatments.
