Last night I undertook a project to go through my entire collection and replace all the wrinkled ones, as well as non-Amaray ones. God it's taking so long. I went dumpster-diving at a certain rental store and came away with nearly 300 cases (and a gigantic poster of Jack Nicholson's wily grinning face from Something's Gotta Give...luckily it's a segmented poster and the only thing on it is his face, haha)....although not all are Amaray, and some have fingernail imprints, etc, there are at least 100 or so Amarays in good condition. I guess I'll get back to sorting, changing cases, and re-alphabetizing. Just a suggestion for those of you looking to replace.

I'm just picky about cases/covers in general. I just think when you are paying for something with your own money you better get the best looking one right? yea and the winkles annoy me, they happened when I took that security tape stuff off my THE THING DVD. oh well.

The only wrinkled case I have is Matrix Reloaded(bought release day). Every copy I came across at the time was wrinkled, but I didn't really care. Even when I browsed through the Reloaded DVD's on Tuesday at Best Buy, every one I checked was wrinkled. It was the same at Wal-Mart. This is the only offender I have come across.

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
No problems with my Matrix or Kill Bill discs, but a LOT of Criterions come wrinkled, I've noticed. I don't know if it's just warm in DVD Planet's (or Amazon's) wherehouses or what.
You can smooth them out with a hair dryer - gently heat the wrinkled area (keeping in mind that you have to keep moving the dryer so you don't melt the plastic) until it starts to get hot, and then pop it into the freezer immediately. It should shrink on there and be nice and tight after that.

Though wrinkled covers do bother me slightly (especially on expensive items, like Criterions), what really annoys me is when the outer wrapper is sealed onto the keepcase's spine (an all-too-common occurrence with Fox DVDs.)
