Ginger Snaps 2 Canadian DVD vs US DVD

OK with the DVD debacle of Ginger Snaps in the US, I was wondering if GS2 is gonna be the same. Is the canadian DVD gonna have more features than the US-LGF DVD? I know that the LGF DVD has Extras and is Anamorphic (better than the P&S original).

They have basically the same features....i think the canadian dvd has a Ginger Snaps 3 trailer but the us one doesn't. Oh and the canadian dvd has a behind the scenes featurette that isn't on the US one...

Does the Candian have all the features that the uS version has also? I've heard that the US got something extra that the Canadian disc doesn't have. Also how "in-depth" is the Making-Of? Is it just one of those HBO-style fluff pieces?

I would go with the Canadian versions of these films. I know the Canadian Ginger Snaps was much better than the American version.

OK, I did some searching myself and came up with this at dvdcompare.net

R1 America - (Lions Gate Home Entertainment)
Audio Commentary by Director Brett Sullivan, Executive Producers John Fawcett & Noah Segal and Producer Laura Devonshire
Deleted Scenes (with optional commentary):
- Brigette's Introduction
- Ginger Appears
- The New Girl
- Nice To Meet You, Brigette
- Trapped
- Carnivore
- Rocky Knows Evil
- Alice Makes An Offer
- Plan To Action
Storyboard Comparisons
Extracts from Brigitte's Journal
Ghost's Comic Book Art
Bonus Trailers for Cabin Fever, House of 1000 Corpses and Serial Killing 101
1.85:1 Anamorphic NTSC
English Dolby Digital 5.1

R1 Canada - (Seville)
Deleted Scenes
Storyboard Comparisons
Audition Tapes
"Behind the scenes" footage
Cast & Crew Interviews
Excerpts from the Original Screenplay
Production Stills
Theatrical Trailer
2 TV Spots
1.85:1 Anamorphic NTSC
English Dolby Digital 5.1
French Dolby Digital 5.1

So I guess it's either get both versions or choose which you want more, Commentary or Interviews, Behind The Scenes & Auditions. I think I might try to snag both versions, just to be safe

the canadian version has a commentary...a lot of sites just don't list it...and i heard the ghost and brigitte things are hardly readable...its not worth it. I am going with the canadian one (becuase i am canadian haha) but if i were n e where else i'd want the canadian one.

Also, i think the BTS stuff is short, but isnt fluff. Not an extra long trailer haha..

What a tough decision. I have the canadian GS but can't decide on GS2. Why can't they just include the same things on both and make the decision easier. I may wait for other opinions before I buy.

I am leaning towards the Canadian version again unless someone can persuade me otherwise.

I saw this today and almost picked it up... then I remembered about the Canadian version and checked back here to recheck the differences.

Getting the Canadian version of the first Ginger Snaps was a no-brainer. Now it's not so cut and dried.

I think I'll get the US version now and the Canadian version later. Okay, that's settled

The dvd covers are different as well. The US versions have the girls on the cover and the Canadian version uses the movie poster as the cover.

are the transfers identical?? The canadian disc is pretty damn grainy...but I suppose that's just the nature of the flick

I think it was probably just shot that way. It's not really a colorful flick.

Is it the same commentary as on the U.S. disk or a different one?

That maybe the deciding factor for me. Right now I'm leaning toward the U.S. version

I think its the same commentary...not sure. Most likely it is, considering the canadian release is from the actual company who made the film, so im sure the makers would give them a commentary before lions gate...

lion's gate is the company that made it

It has the same commentary.

The canadian disc has a behind the scenes that runs about 22 minutes. It's divided up into sections but has a play all feature.
It's pretty good, actually.

The US Extra's are crap other than the commentary. I was checking out the features it took me about 15mins. I would go with the canadian copy.

Not to threadcrap, but I would recommend against blind buying this movie. I loved the first GINGER SNAPS, but found the sequel VERY disappointing. If you're on the fence, rent it first...
