In Living Color Thin cases. Very interesting.

Just picked up In Living Color Season 1 at Costco, and wanted to be the first to talk about the most interesting TV Boxed set case I have ever seen.

It is a three disc set in a box slipcover. The three discs are in individual thinpack bi-fold style cases (made of plastic, not cardboard), with artwork on all sides of each thinpack.

Very interesting, and surprisingly costly packaging for a value set ($24.99 at Costco).

I was expecting something along the lines of basic cardbaord fold out, but this was a welcome surprise.

I hope that this 20th C Fox release starts setting the standard, as this far beats out the traditional cardboard fold outs.

Sounds like the usual thinpack cases that Fox has been using for some time now. Futurama, Family Guy and King of the Hill all come in transparent thinpacks... I digs em'.

Oh, very cool. I had no idea that these have been in use for a while (don't have any of those).

These cases are great. If everything came in these I wouldn't need 4 DVD racks in my living room. They are a little flimsy but no worse than a snapper. I think these should be used more and more. Fox made a smart move with these things.

I'm in favor of them for box sets, but I don't like it if a normal movie comes in them because the spine is SO hard to read.

I agree, i would hate if these because the standard for regular releases. It's nice for box sets though.

This should be the standard for all box sets for TV on DVD! I wish they had been doing the simpsons like this also, It would look so much better with Futurama, Family Guy and KotH. Later, Randy B A

I'm actually in the process of converting all of my collection to thinpaks. I really like them, and they are actually saving me tons of space.

Glad to see Fox continue to use these cases... ILC certainly isn't the first and hopefully won't be the last... another set that used these cases that hasn't been mentioned is Son of the Beach... I hope Fox will eventually release a vol.2...but that's a rant for another thread!

This may sound petty, but I passed on the second release of the man show because it was not in thin packs. Instead it was in a crappy case that had loose discs in every one that I gave the shake test.

Firefly and Lost In Space used them also.

I love this style packaging. It's ease of use is one of the main reasons Family Guy gets more viewing in my house than Buffy or The Simpsons. It's so nice to just pop a disc out instead of having to fumble with tons of cardboard.
